I talked with one of the dudes from Matbock, and he laid out the whole reasoning behind their pricing. Although it is super expensive the Ghost materiel they use is basically adamantium. It’s super light, water proof, indestructible, and everything they make is by hand by a small team.

Companies that simp for navy/dod money always crack me up, they're like "here's a product I wish I had when I was on the teams, made with all the crazy materials, tegris, and minimalism a guy could want, and its only $1,000". And the most insufferable trait of companies like LBT/S&S Precision/Matbock is they will shamelessly try to claim that their gear is the only gear capable of withstanding harsh conditions when there is literally some crusty ass E-7 out there who is literally rocking the same tan Diamondback carrier he bought at the beginning of GWOT.

Firstspear plate carrier also has tweave alongside the plate bag. Donno if it really helps but size L SAPI cut plate fits the plate bag snug, stretching tweave a little bit.

You can get slide that to the front or back of the radio battery so you could get the battery out without taking out the radio

I’ve talked with the matbock guys a few times the bags are cut for the latest cool guy plates. And they are made specifically for that one or two cool guy plates and the run or version is just for that. They are definitely priced to discourage avg people purchasing. And hit those weird points on a gov contract like single zipper, bikini radio pouch, but don’t have the full use of that like water proof pouch or battery access . If you like the material it’s used in ultralight backpacking for years now by little cottage industries, matbock does have a proprietary blend but you are within 10% breaking and wear strength.

The materialblooks like the one Ultralight backpacks are made and it is expensive but....not that expensive.....bit maybe I'm wrong but it seems to be that one.

Swimmer cut plates arent a standard. Their footprint varies wildly from plate to plate. I have this V2 Berserker for SAPI plates and my Ceradyne ESAPIs fit great. That Ghost material is also crazy strong. You cant possibly rip the holes in the cummerbund expander or on the face of the platebags. I know you said you want to flip this thing, but if you cut a len joining two of those holes or even three so you can get your fingers inside no one you know is strong enough to rip it further. I got two extenders with mine and will send you one to replace it if you try on camera.

I’ve seen former operators talk about these and they say they are the best they’ve used. Totally waterproof, holds proper number of mags and the biggest thing is the weight. Soooo light 🤷🏼‍♂️ To be honest, plate carriers are not really necessary for civilian use. 🤷🏼‍♂️
