Thank you.👍 Very shortly after this, Gene asks, "The pretty nurse said to the doctor, 'Doctor, I really don't think you should (blank) while you're operating'". Jack Klugman's answer was, "eat". So Brett says, "Take a look at his WEIGHT, and you'll see why he said 'eat'", just before it was Mama Cass's turn to answer. I wonder if Brett drank, and if she did, I wonder if she was a 'mean drunk'?

MJCLAXDEN, Cass Elliott (aka Mama Cass of the Mamas and Papas) only appeared on Match Game for that one week in 1973. But it would not be her last TV appearance on a game show. From what I researched, she along with Jacqualine Susann made their final game show appearances on "Celebrity Sweepstakes" in the summer of 1974. Cass Elliot died shortly after of a heart attack while eating a ham sandwich (due to contrary belief, it was not due to choking on one as many believed). She was replaced by Eliane, the lead singer of Spanky and Our Gang during all later and future Mamas and Papas reunion tours.

Thanks for digging these out of the archives and blowing the dust off them for us. P.S. ... I'm big, fat, and ugly and don't get offended in the least by all those references in this show. It was all meant in fun back then and still is now, and I'm enjoying every moment of these replays. Humor is our most important asset. Without humor, you can't enjoy anything

As with many steroid drugs, along with other medications such as insulin..... she started gaining weight uncontrollably. By the time she was getting married 6 months later, she had gained 40 pounds...now needing her gown altered to fit. A year later, she had grown to nearly 80 pounds overweight. They adjusted her meds repeatedly, but could never get the weight off. Looking at her weight, you could assume and make jokes about eating, pig etc..... but you would be a jerk, and as she fights for her life 20 years later, waiting for a kidney ..... she will still be a better human being than some of you in this comment section. They are overweight from eating the wrong foods/ too much food. A number of people who blame their weight on age or being big-boned or having a baby or birth control hormones or surgery years ago. These people so focused on HOW/ WHAT initially caused it while ignoring what is needed to maintain all that extra weight. It requires CONTINUING to eat too much of wrong food = portion control 101. People who r obese should try what can to get control & get healthy. Esp young people, like how Mama June had no control over her own eating & instilled same failed relationship w food to Honey Booboo. We might only have 1 life, so should all try for a prolonged life of health. Overeating is not healthy. BOTTOM LINE: NOBODY should say hurtful mean things to ANYONE, but we should all value health for as long as we can. That is part of respecting the gift of life.

As a bisexual male, I don't think Brett meant any ill will by it. That's just how raunchy and edgy the humor was on the show; people shouldn't take it too seriously. Besides, all that should matter is the context, imo. Love this show, btw. Brett, Charles, and Richard had the best chemistry on the show. 💖

This was my favorite game show very calming. The word fag was a very popular term back then. We used the word for feminine type guys, and we were all friends. Straight and Gay we were all friends. Sad what happened in the late 70's and 80's with Aids. very sad that people died just for having sex. Even worse now is that we are divided by sexual preference. I guess that is what the intent was with the virus making everyone hate each other..

you're sick of hearing it because the people who use it are conditioned not to think but to parrot overused Orwellian mind control terms.

Joseph Stalin came up with the phrase. It was a list of things not allowed to be discussed in public in the Stalin era of the USSR.

Joseph Stalin came up with the statement about what was and was not acceptable to talk about in public in the Soviet Union circa 1950.

But I love the Gong Show remake, even though it only airs during the summer. Also, the Match Game remake is good too. But I noticed in the new MG, they’re more lenient when it comes to matching the contestants answers to the celebrities.

If not banned for the word in a dictionary then it would have been banned by feminists for the presenter patronizing the contestant for complementing her earings and calling her beautiful....

It's the double meaning of the word. British terminology meaning a cigarette, and the opposite being a slang derogatory term for someone gay.

It was also a no brainer to ban this episode because it ALSO mentions (via one of the show's questions) the biblical story of Jonah & the Whale. It's around the 8:38 mark. I guess the SJWs are elated they basically killed two birds w/one stone by getting this banned.

Craziness. If you learned anything at school you would realise that whales eat plankton and have a tiny throat so no man could ever be swallowed by a whale. The bible says a big fish. Maybe it was a huge Granddaddy Catfish.
