From Wikipedia: In the mid 1970s, Flagg had a relationship with American writer Rita Mae Brown, whom she met at a party in the Hollywood Hills hosted by Marlo Thomas. The couple briefly shared a house together in Charlottesville, Virginia, before splitting. According to Brown, Flagg also lived for eight years with former The Bold and the Beautiful actress Susan Flannery.

This is still one of my all-time favorite show. It's a game and variety show at the same time. I could not wait to go home from school and watch it on my small color TV back in the 1970's, when I was growing up in Chicago. I still miss it and those wonderful celebrities. It is just so sad, so may of them have passed away. ;)

Me too. And I was born in Chicago and grew up in Schaumburg. 🤓 I’m watching the reruns now on the Buzzr channel. 🤷🏻♀️ I need a laugh in these times...I just watched this episode tonight and was happy to find this clip on KZfaq. Fannie is still alive, but yes, most of them have passed away.

@@cherylroberts3569 Fannie Flagg was not married to gay actor Dick Sargent. However, they did appear together as a team on Tattletales, which may be where your assumption that they were straight and married came from.

@rickhatch1 Fannie used to be involved with author Rita Mae Browne, who outed her. Fannie also wrote Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe, which was made into the movie Fried Green Tomatoes. The movie toned down the lesbian affair to appeal the the mainstream audience. I've heard Fannie interviewed and she seems like a very down-to-earth person.

I'm pretty sure Fannie squeaked her magic marker extra LOUD SO HE COULD HEAR IT and if you listened to it you knew her answer was 4 letters and the "B" was very obviously repeated twice interesting if it was not so funny they might have DQ'd his win but it was comedy gold so the judges probably said, "screw it" it was worth $5000 to make one of the funniest moments on the whole show ever.
