MATCHBOX Restoration No 64a Scammell Breakdown Truck 1959

Күн бұрынThis model had been buried in a garden for at least 30 years when it was discovered and then sent to me. It was worse than I imagined. At first I thought this could not be saved but I took up the challenge. Very slowly, one part at a time, it started to transform. Eventually a small miracle occurred and it became a display worthy model which is now part of my collection.
I'm back home now so I shall be back on schedule with my weekly uploads!

The code word within the video "trump" was simply used as a password for a winner of the monthly patreon giveaway, It in no way means anything other than that. In hindsight I should of used another word, but its hard to keep track of everything that might be offensive, I try my best.

@@pangtsr Pot metal is an alloy of zinc and aluminium. There shouldn't be any corrosion issues.

Marty, your makeover was just as impressive as the truck! As a side note, I used to have one of those armored cars when I was a kid. It was a favorite but I forgot all about it until now! For a wonderful moment, I was 6 again...

Marty Therefore, I will ALWAYS continue to watch your videos, because you have such a crazy insane humor. I guess I would consider more outside ventilation when spraying the Tamiya paints. But it is always great to laugh out loud in today’s crazy world and I always do appreciate that

Have you considered using a soldering gun and building the metal out. To them be able to file it to liking. Solder is solder hard metal.

Someone has tried this and found the solder doesn't adhere well to the zinc. I can't remember who.

*White Vinegar with Epsom salt is what I use for the rust*

Soak rusty pieces in WD-40 for 24-48 hours; it'll KILL that rust!

I have used a product called navel jelly. It is dangerous and powerful. It works promptly. Some type of acid, like vinegar, only deadly.

Marty, if any rusted axels may come by again then use the electrolysis technique. All rust wil jump off until bare metal accurs. Then the process stops. I used it for an old rifle, this way all letter and number stamps wil be untouched instead of using chemicals or grinding

Crazy shit with those nails! love them although I noticed you had some difficulty with picking up tools.. just practice more wearing them. The shoes are divine! Good job with the Scammel I didn't think it was worth the trouble but you pulled it off.
