It is very funny to see Marty hesitate a bit, before choosing his wife's toothbrush to clean off the paint-stripper. A very subtle and typical Marty joke!

It really is a cute little truck I have a fondness for the 50s models. Great job Marty as usual

These are your best videos your new ones aren’t as good you don’t take the time and you cut out too much now a defect like that you wouldn’t even address now you just say it’s part of the casting and you want to leave it original

I had one of these as a kid. Children today cannot grasp the idea of lining trucks & cars up & creating smashes. Nobody plays with toys anymore.

I love what you did to the original truck to turn it into a BP

Given the period, I suspect the round shape in the back is meant to represent a lady's hatbox. (It looks like a stack of luggage, as of a family going somewhere on holiday.)

I've just checked my little red No5 and it is 52 mm it also has smaller windows 7 on the top deck as opposed to 6 on yours. Lovely job you did btw.

Beautiful makeover! I'm trying to do my own on 6 models that all need new axles. How do I obtain a new axel or axel and wheels?

Nicely done Marty, good looking model!

The Super Kings version of this model was originally released in green. If you live in Australia and looking for the model in the video, it sells on ebay UK for around £75. Even with postage it’s going to cost much less than A$500.

Hi Marty, has your wife figured out yet where her toothbrush keeps disappearing to?

Hi Marty there is an easy test to determine plastic or metal wheels. Simply touch the wheel or wheels to your lip. Metal is much colder than plastic and you can tell almost straight away with a bit of practice. Love the channel, best wishes Mike

Great tip Mike, thanks, I will try it out and pass on the info in my next vid with metal wheels.

This would have been a perfect candidate for the custom paint job of the Mustang Steve McQueen drove in the movie Bullitt.🙂

Marty, did you accomplish this restoration before you started the practice of grinding down the axles to remove the wheels, or did you decide to leave the wheels mounted on purpose?

With all your followers you should have sponsors to help finance the hobby. I’ve purchased all sorts of items after seeing your videos. These are great fun. Thank you 🙏

A nice job Marty. These Zephyrs weren't featured in the Z Cars TV show, it was the larger model shape that arrived after these - The Zephyr 4, Zephyr 6, and the Zodiac 🚓
@jamesnaquin79Ай бұрын
The brake fluid does work! You need to submerge the wheels with paint in the brake fluid for several hours. That paint will wipe right off.
