So much poise! This is a different type of Filipino player, the poise and technique of a Fedor, with the guts of a Johan, with the killer instinct of an Efren Reyes. Outstanding, championship mettle. To take down Fedor and Filler on the same day is special!

You’re right Karl- running five racks from behind is almost impossible in a Matchroom final the way their tournaments are fashioned
@9BallBory14 күн бұрын
Wdym? They aren’t alt break so how are you complaining? It’s just the game is so hard now for even the best which is how it should be.
@doraemon40214 күн бұрын
Particularly with breaks every 3 racks that cut your rythm to 0
@JC-md7lg14 күн бұрын
@@9BallBory I don't agree. The tightness has changed the percentages: players avoiding the long shots, power strokes and spin shots that make the game attractive and choosing more safety instead, slower racks, skillful players made to look average and clearly getting stressed by it. It's intense but kind of miserable and this has been the least entertaining wnt major so far. So many empty seats in the final too. We don't want buckets but they're getting it wrong and pros starting to call them out on it now.
@anferneeleung69414 күн бұрын
@@JC-md7lg They're still experimenting what pocket size is best for the tournaments. Yes, we all know 4" pockets has worked well for the last 2 years but some 'fans' complained that the diamond table pockets are 'way bigger' than rasson table's. Therefore matchroom are trying out the 3.8" pockets but I doubt they'll use these 3.8" pockets any longer and will return to 4" pockets. Also, don't ask me why some people say the pockets on the diamond table are bigger. Idk why too and I strongly disagree. I think the pockets on rasson table play bigger and they're the ones that should try out the 3.8" pockets.
@JC-rn5op14 күн бұрын
@anferneeleung694 Yes I think some fan boys think that constantly demanding tighter and tighter pockets makes then some kind of expert but it actually shows they don't understand the game. In 9 ball, unlike 8 ball, there's no jeopardy in choosing safety, you can do it anytime and will if the percentages for an attacking game have been made too poor. So you just end up with a really boring game: snooker without the depth of break building. Also, having players able to run a few racks in a row adds to the excitement. You can be on the hill, a few games ahead and still in danger if the opponent has the break. There's a great accustats match where Ko runs the last 5 against SVB to do this, full of great shots of course. Not gonna happen on these 3.8 nightmares

@txtmodcarlo14 күн бұрын
@@PostUp_Time Yes they are not coz those top two ranking players loss their respective matches. And Fedor and Filler are the ones left in the tourney and favored to win it even on betting sites and people who follow Pool and have half a brain would put Filler and Fedor to win it.

I stand corrected: What I really meant is that as of May 12, 2024, Fedor Gorst and Joshua Filler are the top two in the Money Leaderboard rankings, with recorded earnings of: (1) Fedor Gorst $126,513; (2) Joshua Filler $119,463; (3) Carlo Biado $105,550; (4) Van Boening $93,388; (5) Sanchez-Ruiz $55,377; (6) Corteza; (7) Oi; (8) Shaw; (9) Ouschan; (10) Capito....Capito is a full blooded Filipino born in Hongkong, and so he learned billiards and excelled there because he has practically lived his entire life in Hongkong, so he earned the right to represent Hongkong, not the Philippines.

I really like this very tight pocket now. Big names having unfortunate mistakes. This pros can run a rack clean if you have wider pockets. The skills they possess have been polished and ball placements are insane. Tight pocket regulate those overly confident top players. Have to be pin point at their shots now.
@jpcab946014 күн бұрын
I couldn't finish watching this. What a lack lustre final. Poor shot selection followed by consistent misses by both all over the map.
@george4noles33815 күн бұрын
Both of these guys are good but they've both choked on shots they should have made that I think players like Filler, SVB, Gorst, Shaw and Ouchan wouldn't miss if they were playing in the finals. Dealing with pressure is what makes elite players elite.
