Yep, I've since experimented with both 24" and 22", and 22" seems to give *slightly" more accurate speed readings (the true outside tire diameter is actually about 23" but there's no option for 23"). I have my wheel size set to 22" now.

Hey Daniele! Reducing the current limit to 20 Amps will definitely extend the life of the battery and motor. That's a big reason why I did it. Another way to increase battery life is to try to store it with a charge between 20% and 80%. Storing it at 100% or 0% can reduce the life (but it's not the end of the world).

Hey Justinspirational! Love your name :) The pedal assist is a little funny, not really how I thought it would work. I've found that the way my controller works is that it gives 100% power to the motor until you reach a certain speed associated with each pedal assist level. For example, the speed PAS 1 seems to correlate to about 8 mph, so as you approach 7 mph, the power decreases. PAS 5 is about 23 mph. The way I combat this is by reducing the current limit in advanced settings (it also increases range too). So at 25 Amps, the factory setting, with a full battery (54V) you'll notice the display shows about 1300 Watts when you accelerate (calculation is: 54V x 25A = 1350 Watts). If you reduce to 20 Amps, then you'll push about 1,000 Watts. Also, as the battery discharges, the Voltage will drop too until it reaches about 40 Volts, which also reduces power to the motor.

If you want to reduce power output, I would reduce to 20 Amps. It will be less "jerky" when first acceleration and also extends the range.

I don't think such a thing *truly* exists :) They seem to be regular, inexpensive tires. I've heard other people have experienced punctures on both set of tires, but I haven't had any issues so far in 300+ miles. *knocks on wood*

For the color screen on the Taiwan bikes, the password is 1919. The password for the color screen on the Chinese bikes is 1801.

Hi Jet Belt! :) Hmm, that's strange. By chance do you have the "original" color display (did you get the bike early)? The first few bikes shipped from China had a slightly different color display, which may be the reason (but the code is different from 1919, I think its 1801). My display is considered the "new" color display which seems to be the standard display on the bikes being shipped now. Many people waited over a year, as it took them a while to spin up production. So yes, it has been typical, unfortunately. But they seem to be shipping bikes much faster now. Over 11,000 bikes have been delivered or are in transit (off the boat) as of the latest update.

Hi Luciano, I understand there have been some battery issues (potentially reduced capacity cells). Aside from getting a new battery from Mate, the best thing I can recommend is 1) to reduce the current limit even further (perhaps to 12 Amps), 2) avoid stop and start as much as possible, 3) reduce the PAS level to 3 - 4, and 4) pedal more :)

Its about $2,600 bucks from the site now but that isn't what most folks who backed the bike paid. I paid $1100 for the most powerful version. However I am still waiting to get the bike.

This bike is listed on their website for $1800 (for the 750 W, standard battery version).
