I didn’t realize there were two Mater Dei schools in California. Guess one goes by Mater Dei Catholic which is the team that Julian Sayin and Carlsbad blew out last night on ESPN2. Not this Mater Dei! Mater Dei Catholic is pretty good too tho, they’ve won state two years in a row in a smaller classification I believe. Carlsbad looked really strong, they put it on them and Sayin looked as good as advertised. He had 3 TDs and like 225 total yrds.

roderick robinson from lincoln hs in san diego last year was a beast but played most of the season injured but still managed to amass 1000+ yards committed to Georgia. dude is over 220 lbs and is a bulldozer of a running back. not sure why he chose georgia tho since they are stacked at RB. he could be a star any where else. he was the rated no1 rb in cali. top 3 in the nation @@PacificFoolander

There’s some stupid ass comments being made. First of all, most of mater deli’s kids are from LA, riverside, orange, and San Bernardino county. In fact, every starter in offense and defense is born and raised within 50 miles of the school so whoever said they’re using out of state kids is on some bullshit. Second, the level of youth football play is just different i Cali. Teams like the OG Ducks, OC Buckeyes, Wilmington Pilots, these teams would crush whatever youth football team you’re repoing wherever you’re from. Cali ball is just different as hell. It’s probably because of the population, there’s a lot of people out here. But these are all kids from within 50 miles of mater dei campus (south central, Watts, Compton, Long Beach, Anaheim, Riverside)

Is having too many good players on one team always a good thing? It is true that having a loaded roster lends itself to high competition during practice. However, during games, if a players doesn't have to do so much because someone else on the roster will do it, does this help the player improve and become better? Does not having to go through so much adversity during a season, lend itself to making players better? No doubt Mater Dei has some standout high school players, but for all of the players that go D! they- with a few exceptions- don't seem to do as well in college or as pros. Same goes for ST. John Bosco. Could be wrong.

Don’t forget: MD will have beaten #15 Cen10 (last week), traveled to Baltimore to play SFA, played GA Creekside and HI Kahuku by the time they meet SJB. MD will be plenty ready, and they want Bosco’s heads this year.

@@bjones2366 I think SJB also plays SFA and Kahuku, so that may be a wash. On another note, SFA is going to be dead by week 6 🤣🤣🤣
