Kitty and her mom aren't necessarily evil, more... chaotic neutral. They do what they want and care mainly about having fun and causing mischief. The difference is that Kitty's pranks are mean-spirited but ultimately harmless in the sense that she doesn't try to seriously hurt anyone, while her mother is much more of a risk-taker and seems oblivious of the possible consequences that her "pranks" could cause.

Background on Wonderland (and on Raven’s mom a little bit)- The reason why Raven’s mom is such a big deal in the show is because she didn’t JUST try to fulfill her own destiny- she tried forcefully taking over other stories as well. Part of that was cursing Wonderland to take over for herself. That’s also why Maddie, Kitty, Lizzie, and only a handful of adults (the White Queen and Mad Hatter for example) are the only Wonderlandians in Ever After. Wonderland is essentially quarantined for Ever After’s safety until they can figure out how to remove the curse (this is also a VERY big part of why Raven hasn’t signed- she wants nothing more than to not be like her mother, and in the books she saw herself trying to take over other stories the same way the evil queen did)

Fun fact that not many people talk about but it’s actually my favorite fact in this show: Brooke Page, who is the daughter of the narrators, is actually in the Ever After High logo. She is the face on the key.

Kitty is the definition of chaotic neutral. But she's not necessarily evil. Also she has such cute fits. The wonderland gang in general are my favourites. Watching you rage is still funny though. To answer your question, evil apple is more enjoyable cause she's actually being genuine there instead of being a patronizing, close minded, selfish ass while still acting innocent and righteous. At least evil is honest.

The Cheshire's don't just go invisible when they disappear. They out right teleport/portal around. Not sure how it's supposed to work, but there doesn't seem to be much of a range limit.

A little backstory! Lizzie, Maddie and Kittie are the ONLY students in whole ever after high that from Wonderland. And heres the thing, when the Evil Queen cast a speel on Wonderland, only a handfull people (Lizzie, Maddie, Kittie and the Mad Hatter) can escape. Thats why when Alister and Bunny came, the became so happy. They were a litteral refuges in ever after high. (I hope i explain good, english is not m first language, sorry 😭)

I love Spring Unsprung and the Wonderlandians. Generally, EAH has one of the best depictions of Wonderland in media. They capture the feeling of it so well, and are actually doing new and interesting things with it (instead of just redoing the original story).

My take is that the Cheshire Cat isn’t *quite* evil, she’s just extremely morally grey and enjoys causing problems to be petty and watch chaos happen. It seems like she’s abusive and emotionally manipulative to kitty and that’s why kitty tries so hard to impress her, and why she’s ok with doing all those crappy things. It’s just the way she was raised. Kitty’s one of my favorite characters for this special alone, as a person with mommy issues her situation is pretty relatable in some ways

Spoiler free fun fact, the child narrator name is Brooke Page (like book page haha) and we have actually seen her a lot before. She's the silloute girl on the logo.

Love Kitty so much. I understand she’s not the most likable here, but she really is her best in the book, “A Wonderlandiful World”. It’s my favorite in the series. By the way, I know everyone in the past videos keeps talking about this part in the book where Apple falls down a well and is traumatized for life, but buying a whole book for one or two pages might be unappealing to some, so I’m going to reproduce the whole bit in the comment below. I think kitty's mom as someone said is chaotic neutral. She's doing chaos just for the sake of fun but the kind of chaos that doesn't leave a permanent damage. Just like what she did in the film she can actually just reverse the spell back to normal if ever things got out of control.

I love Kitty. She wants to fulfill her destiny and make her family proud, but she isn't cruel and heartless. Her mother presses her to go past her boundaries and we can see in this special she is aware when things go too far. You do have to remember Kitty is from Wonderland and their morals aren't quite like ours. Even with Maddie and Lizzie, you can see them being a bit different from the other students. Also please react to the mini episodes, too. They are important and I love many of them. :)

23:59 Yes, you got that right. Kitty's mom put a Topsy turvy spell on the book of Wonderland riddles that causes the people who read the riddles inside of it to have their normal personalities to be the exact opposite.

One of my favorite scenes in the books is when Madeline gets unjustly expelled and Apple and Raven have to come up with a plan to prove her innocence (I forget what she was expelled for). In order to do this however they have to keep it a secret from Maddie, so to prevent her from hearing their narration they think of bunnies to cloud their inner monologue XD Another of my favorite scenes is when the book narrator gets Wonderland Fever and becomes unable to narrate, so Madeline and Kitty start narrating the second half of the story themselves until the Narrator gets better

About Kitty, when you have a certain reputation that can make it difficult to change. Because you know that people expect you to act a certain way so if Kitty tried to stop playing pranks and stuff they still wouldn’t trust her, they’d probably think she’s playing some long con to lull them into a false sense of security. I’d assume she’s been following her mother’s lead since she was little, so she’s had this prankster reputation for a long time. That must be pretty isolating because people don’t want to hang out with someone who will just mess with them all the time. Meaning the only person she could be close with was her mother, who praised and encouraged mischief. Sorry for the character study essay, that’s just how I imagine she came to be the way she is.

I reviewer I watched mentioned that Kitty saying “I would’ve thought my wonderland friends would understand.” Might imply that “chaos” is sort of a cultural thing of wonderland. Which sort of creates an interesting perspective on the problem (not saying that dismisses Kitty’s actions but that does create an interesting layer)

Kitty and her mom are the chaotic neutral definition of “I’m going to cause problems on purpose” and “I’m doing this because it’s the funniest thing to do.” It’s in their nature to be pranksters, much like the original Cheshire Cat that tried to lead Alice astray by being unhelpful. Also, I might not simp for Alistair, but I’m absolutely not surprised people do. Alistair best boi.

Ravens mom went beyond her own story and tried to take over all of Ever After, including Wonderland (not just sticking to her own story). That’s why she’s considered the “most evil” and why everyone is expecting Raven to follow in her footsteps and be evil. Only a few citizens of Wonderland (Maddie, Lizzie, Kitty, The Mad Hatter, and maybe a few others I’m forgetting) were able to evacuate before all portals were sealed off. That’s why Lizzie’s mother (the Queen of Hearts) and Kitty’s mom (the Cheshire Cat) are still in Wonderland, they never made it out. It also explains why Allistair and Bunny know Maddie, Lizzie, and Kitty, they were friends when they were younger.

The ever after high series really starts to pick up steam and expand plot wise from here on so its important to pay attention because theres so many key details.

The idea with Wonderland was that when the Evil Queen decided to break out of her destiny and try to take over other stories, she attempted to destroy/take over Wonderland. She was stopped, but her curse would have seeped into Ever After so it was almost entirely sealed off. (minus the well in this special!) This allows the Cheshires to move between worlds due to their abilities (though Kitty can't because she doesn't have control yet), but everyone else is trapped. It's suggested that the Mad Hatter and a couple other Wonderland adults took as many kids as they could and got out of Wonderland before it was sealed, like Lizzie's mom sent her out to make sure her heir would be safe. Hence why Maddie, Kitty, and Lizzy are at Ever After High! It also makes Maddie and Raven being BFFs so much sweeter because Maddie doesn't let what Raven's mom did to her world affect the way she views Raven. That's also why Raven doesn't want to sign in the books-- she's shown a future where she breaks out of her story and attacks Wonderland like her mom did. There's a cool fan theory that the Wonderland kids have already lived out their destinies because Alistair is already in Wonderland and knows them all-- their story happened early whenever Alistair entered Wonderland for the first time! It would make Alistair being stuck in Wonderland and not Ever After make more sense! Also! Apple's fear of rebelling is mostly due to a traumatic experience when she was a kid where she didn't listen to the rules and almost died falling down a well-- she associates her destiny with safety. Even though Raven's story ends badly for her, to Apple there is nothing more dangerous or scary than the unknown of not following the rules. It's definitely selfish but a little more understandable!

I definitly agree with you about Kitty's mom. I mean people say she's chaotic neutral but no. Chaos is her thing but Kitty cares about the world still working, her mom doesn't care about apocalypse and destruction. Like you said, here she didn't create chaos and was absolutely not planning on doing anything to change it, not because she's neutral but because it makes her happy to see everyone like this and I definitly don't get why people think she's neutral. The cheshire cat normally is neutral but this version here showed multiple times its evilness. Apple’s background for being a bitch, ripped right from the books: When Apple was six years old, she had fallen down a well. She’d been chasing a dragonfly and climbed onto the well’s edge. Then… a seeming endless fall that ended in a freezing splash, struggle, and gasp for life. She treaded water, her heavy petticoats pulling her down. She didn’t have the breath to either scream or sing for help. It was the first time in her life that she’d ever felt alone. Or cold. Or really, truly scared. Every night before bed, her mother had told her a story that should have been frightening: _Scary Evil Queen. Huntsman ordered to cut out her heart. Lost in dark woods with grabby trees. Dwarves, dwarves, more dwarves. Old peddler lady giving her a strangling ribbon. Old peddler lady giving her a poisoned comb. Old peddler lady giving her a poisoned apple. Crunch. Gasp. Faint (beautifully). Dead sleep. Cold glass coffin. Empty dreams. Then… kiss. Wake. Prince! Cheering dwarves. Huge choreographed dance number. Happily Ever After._ Even the scary parts of the Snow White story never scared Apple, because it was known. It was her mother’s story, and her mother assured her that one day that same story would be hers. Treading cold water in the well, feeling her legs tire, her face start to sink under, the cruel, smooth walls slick to her grasping fingers, six year-old Apple had changed. She realized that the real world was much, much scarier than any fairytale. Only in her own story would she be safe. It took two minutes for her servants, her parents, and a horde of woodland creatures to find her and pull her out of the well. Two very long minutes. By the time she was wrapped up in fifteen blankets before a fire, worried bunnies huddled onto her lap, shoulders, and head, Apple had made an important decision. She wanted her story. She wanted it ASAP. The sooner she was in that nice, safe, familiar tale-poisoned fruit and all-the better. Her story wouldn’t happen without Raven. So Apple had to help Raven onto the right path. And if that didn’t work, she’d _make_ her.

I find Apple more relatable as a villain and I'm a little concerned about that.

I think the "of course you'll do better" is kind of bad, in a way that it can make you feel awful if you DON'T do better. Like basically high expectations that make you feel the need to meet, which can make you upset if you don't meet them-

You’ll find out about the green cloud in way to wonderland. It was made by the evil queen who wanted to take over wonderland but was stopped. In way to wonderland apple gets a sort of redemption but then the writers like throw it away in the next season , dragon games

Shes the daughter of the Chesire Cat, its her duty to do these things ON TOP of wanting her mother's approval! That's what makes the issue complex! These are teenagers who have been taught their wholelives to do whats expected of them to do! AS AN AUTISTIC PERSON I interpret Kitty and her mom's way of acting as just... not socially understanding the actual emotional pain someone's going through?? even when someone gets angry or sad they don't realize what that really MEANS, they don't make the connection. Kitty really thinks this is all a prank, and is upset when her friends "don't understand" because she literally can't get why it's a problem. she physically can't get it. She doesn't understand why this is such a big deal, why the sadness and anger are so serious this time, and in the end it's a combination of having tangible "this will be ruined forever" consequences and taking her friend's WORD FOR IT that that is a bad thing that lets her help. She's not malicious and neither is her mom they just are low empathy people who's brains, while not wired like mine, obviously aren't neurotypical either and clearly form connections differently. The flow of logic is different. Ergo, she doesn't think like them, or most of the audience, about what's going on because her brain took a left when their took a right....over and over and over, and she literally can't reach the same conclusion with her way of thinking until it's presented in another way- the way where her friends and the place she likes are physically changed beyond recognition, and TANGILBY where she can see it and it's everywhere. I saw a comment in the replies for @utlukka950's comment saying kitty isn't oblivious, she just doesn't care, and I think that's a very obvious overlooking of how different people's mental processing can be. It may be obvious to YOU, but not to her in the same way- she hears "this is a very bad thing and i'm upset" but because she doesn't think it's a real problem and can't empathize normally she can't figure out why someone else would be so hurt or why "oh no there's a disaster happening" is....bad?? she doesn't know why it's bad. It's like if you met someone who genuinely couldn't understand why a tornado or an earthquake is a problem. "how to you not know how a tornado is a problem?" because your brain ISN'T hardwired to make the connection that it is, like YOURS. You're asking a jigsaw puzzle to have a bouncy ball click into one of it's empty slots. It physically doesn't compute. Some people don't have the same functions you do in their heads, and it's disabling (that's why they're disabilities) and also, so often, gets misinterpreted as something else and gets people to treat you badly, when you physically cannot help it any more than you can help not being able to sprout wings and fly.
