Octavia wasn’t dreaming Stolas being supportive and a good father. That was a flashback and then when she wakes up the flashback is over.

The funny thing is that, Stolas’s wife isn’t upset that he ‘cheated on her’. She’s upset because he slept with an imp, one of the lowest class demons in the Helluva universe.

Octavia's dream is actually a flashback. She very much was "Daddy's girl" (not like that, you perverts). Shes just an angsty teen now who thinks that since he no longer loves her mom (which he never did) that he wont love her anymore either.

Blitzø loves horses and its one of the ongoing themes through his whole life. I love how he has unabashedly retained his adoration for horses.

The foreshadowing of this episode OMG- . ... SO LIKE-. Stolas thought she'd like the circus even though she said no before because he didn't like the circus when he was younger and he said no before, before seeing Blitzo. He was trying to replicate happy memories for his daughter because he knew already that she was already unhappy

Millie missed the target even though she’s also an assassin because she doesn’t normally use guns, she uses her ax and other hand-to-hand type weapons. Whereas Moxxie primarily uses guns, so his aim was great.

PLEASE Matthew, understand that everyone shown in helluva boss are hellborn. They were not sent there because they sinned in a past life. None of them ever lived on earth EXCEPT for Blitz's clients.

And Stella, his wife, didn't care that he was "cheating" on her, she was pissed he screwed an IMP, the lowest beings in hell. Also this is hell, monogomy is not assured at any time. Also also they are NOT dead. They are NATURAL denizens of hell, like Charlie, they were born there. Almost none of the characters you see in this show are Sinners from Earth, except for the people hiring I.M.P to kill people ON Earth.

Ah, small point: Stolas, Octavia, his Wife, All the Imps and pretty much everyone we see in Helluva Boss, except the I.M.P. Clients are Hellborn, like Charlie. In HH, Lute said "Lucifer gave you and _your Hellborn kind_ a pardon from the excorsist blade" meaning any hellborn demon, like Imps, Hellhounds, Succubi and others are not actually subject to the extermination. On top of that anyone we see outside of the Ring of Pride where the I.M.P. office is _must_ be hellborn, as Sinners cannot leave the Pride ring Stolas and his family are not only Hellborn, there Royalty

If you notice in Hazbin, all of Lucifers decorations are circus themed and the pile of papers Robofizz burned had his signature on them. Imps and demon royalty like Stolas though aren't dead sinners, they're hellborne like Charlie. The children of the original fallen angels who fell with Lucifer. There's angels who look like Stolas in the episode Charlie goes to Heaven too. Later on when they go to the Lust Ring, keep an eye out in the background and you'll see posters of Angel Dust on the walls. Sinners who are killed by anything but an Angelic weapon just revive after a time, while Imps can be killed by any normal means and Royalty like Charlie and Stolas can't really be hurt or killed unless it's specifically with Angelic weapons. That's why Carmine makes bank. Imagine an Imp city where sinners couldnt be killed but could just slaughter all the imps for territory. But then the imps can buy Angelic weapons from Carmilla and even the playing field.

Honestly, as much as Stolas wanted to be honest with Octavia about how bad his relationship is with her mother, Stella... especially the parts where he wanted to say "her and I weren't in love" and "I haven't been happy with her", Octavia could've assumed Stolas was just telling her this as a manipulation tactic (you know, how in divorce cases, some parents unjustly accuse the other as being a "bad parent" when there's no proof otherwise). So that's why Stolas didn't tell her about him and Stella being in an arranged marriage.

If you pay attention to the portraits: In the first one during the lullaby flashback the picture is of JUST Stolas and her, she says she looked all over tha palace and could find HIM anywhere and it scared her, not Stella, and then the picture of loo loo land Stella was crossing her arms and looking positively disgusted in the PAST. Before Blitzø snuck in and slept w/ Stolas and crashed onto her table with his grimoire. (pilot ep) Notice Stella was the ONLY person screaming and breaking stuff and all her insults were based on the fact he slept with the lower class: an imp. Stolas wasn't screaming because he never truly stood up to her domestic violence and insults and allowed himself to be a doormat so there would be less conflict in Via's life. This will all come back later and be explained in future episodes. Stolas loves his daughter so much and he endured so much for her but now he has a rekindled crush for the first time in his life and he really just wants to be loved for once. Can't say anymore without giving any future episode spoilers but I will add more lore and analysis comments as you watch. This show is one of my all time favorites, possibly Top 5. There is so much complexity in each of the characters and there motives, I never once disliked Stolas in my first watch because his first genuine appearance was in Loo Loo Land and the only thing I knew before that was he really liked Blitzø. The Dirty Talk thing can just be summed up as [dirty talk] Which Bryce Pinkam is very good at as he just went on a tangent and thats absolutely hilarious, episodes 0-1 are mostly comedic relief and the personalities from the pilot are not the same for Moxie (very angry) or Stolas (lowkey lonely supervillain). Once season 2 rolled around they got a way better idea of the story they were telling. I love this show

Things to note: 1: The “Dream” was a flashback 2: Stella is a cvnt (not the good kind) 3: infidelity is common in hell but sleeping with basically a servant (an imp) is disgraceful 4: Stolas is an amazing dad who does anything for his daughter, even stay in a loveless marriage for her sake of having a family

no spoilers but heres the heirarchy top to bottom. lucifer, charlie and lillith, the seven deadly sins like ausmodeous and beelzebub, then the ars goetia like paimon and stolas, then the overloards like alastor, then the sinners like angel dust, then the hellborn like succubus, then imps and hellhounds on the bottom. sinners can only be on the top pride ring like in hazbin but only hell born can go to the other rings of hell

Stolas never had a good example of couples and displays of affection. His dad was absent, he was primarily raised by servants (although that head imp butler canonically fucks, just not on the job). His relationship with Stella was one sided, he wanted to display the positive relationship he never saw for his daughter to see. So with Blitzø, he doesnt fully know how to act and is reverting to what he thinks Blitzø wants.

So you decided to react to the 2nd episode of Helluva Boss huh Mathew. Well that's nice! "Loo Loo Land" is a very interesting episode, I can still remember people instantly adoring Octavia!

You kinda see it in the episode but I would like to clarify that Stolas has never had a normal relationship in his life. At all. Parents? Nope. Friends? Nope. Wife? God no. So he’s going to have trouble navigating communication in a healthy relationship because he’s never had it before (I’m not just pulling this out of my ass there’s evidence of it as you get further in, it’s just nice to have that context early on). Also yeah, I despise cheating like, DEEPLY despise it. Even then I understand why Stolas did it, it almost seems like he believes he’s not worthy of divorcing Stella.

Helluva Boss and Hazbin Hotel happen in the same universe, the Hellaverse. The Lucifer in Hazbin is the same in Helluva. Also some hierarchy in the Hellaverse, Stolas is an Ars Goetia (powerful demon royalty), Blitz is an imp (the lowest tier in society), both are hell-born. Also apparently all sinners are confined to the Pride ring (Lucifer's ring), Lucifer is the sin of Pride here.

Octavia wasn't dreaming about her father being nice. That was a real scene from the past. Stella didn't think Stolas was an embarrassment for cheating necessarily. It was because he was cheating with an imp, someone far below their social station.

Really puts it into perspective, Ive never thought the flashback was a dream, but I wish I did, because it would've been so much nicer and funnier to 'hate' on Stolas for being an unpresent dad in Octavia's life, and then be corrected later on in the show because of his relationship with Stella. I feel like I've commented thos before but I can't remember which video so I'll put this here again. Hell residents consists of two kinds, hellborns and sinners. Hellborns are the natives who were born there so they were never really "alive" in the sense that you're thinking, therefore they never died. The hellborns consists of different creatures depending on the circles(?) they're from: 1. Imps: I've read from others that they're wrath circle and are seen as labor workers(?) 2. Fish demons: idk where they're from honestly because where they're seen differs to what I've heard where they're from. 3. Hellhounds: what Loona is 4. Goetia: demons based of the ars goetia i think, they're mostly birds. That's what Stolas is, i think they're like under the 6 princes/princesses of hell (the embodiment of sins, I'm not counting Lucifer since he is the king of hell) Sinners are former humans who died and mainly live in the pride ring, you know them already.

Its so sad that Stolas ruined the facade that he had created, but Octavia doesnt understand that her parents "relationship" is a facade. Stolas doesnt want to explain to his daughter that he stayed in an abusive relationship and denied himself love for her, to have her, to give her the parents he never had. His family forcing him to have a kid set him up with Stella, who is the root of most of the problems in his life.

I know you've gotten this a lot, but Octavia wasn't dreaming, that was a flash-back. Stella (Stolas's wife) doesn't care about Stolas in the slightest. She only cares that he slept with an imp, the lowest of the low, and it was in their bed. Also everything you see in hell in Helluva will be hellborn unless they're sinners hiring I.M.P. or not from hell.

I'm sooo trying not to scream at the screen when he keeps calling Stolas a homewrecker (not exact wording but still). Stolas has been through so much. I know Mathew hasn't seen later episodes but I hope he at least picks up on this hints of what's actually going on between Stolas and Stella.

"Good news, you're already dead" Nope! Almost every character in Helluva Boss is 'hellborn', which means they were born and grew up in hell. Imps, demons, succubi, etc are separate from 'sinners'. Additionally, sinners only exist in the 'Pride' ring (where Hazbin takes place), whereas every other ring contains only hellborn (though I believe IMP headquarters is in Pride as well, since their clients are sinners).

The biggest difference between hazbin and helluva is the cast is born in hell, which also means they can travel to other rings (sinners are stuck in Pride where IMP operates) but loo loo land for instance is on the greed ring, hence the green sky

Stolas really is just a good dad. He screws up, but he tries. He loves his daughter more than anything. He's trying to navigate incredibly difficult things while still being a good dad, and he does a pretty good job of it.
