Happy to finally see this review about the Triax albeit one about the Vertix wold fit better due the timming. The Triax was probably the best selling hunting compound bow in NA this past year, so is a bit out of the scope talking about how would perform at 70 m range, when most of the purchasers won't release the arrow against a game beyond 40 yards, or even 20 due most of them will hunt in blinds or tree stands. The best feature is probably how quieter and deader in hand is, and the worst maybe the weight (albeit contributes to the stability) or the weitd ~11º grip angle. The new 30" ata Vertix changes that, with a more usual ~17º grip with better design, and includes switchweight modules. I do think that the problem with the unexpected draw length only happens with your first bow; once you are aware of the real length that fits you better ordering a propper model wouldn't be a problem. The Triax make a big impact in the market, moving other brands to make shorter ata bows, as the RX-3, the Ritual 30 or the CT3. But I would love to see the Carbon Air Steatlh (this year in 35") moving to 37"+ or the Halon X. Would like to see a review over the Vertix and the CT5 or CT9. Shame that the Prime dealership is so small overseas, their latest models seems really great but here in Europe and in Australia they are very expensive, close to the Prevail and Perform prices. Good review mate as usual. I used to have a Halon X for target and 3D plus field. I wanted a change and bought a Evolve 35 in May 18 and never looked back. I have shot the new Mathews range for 19 and found that the Taverse was the only one I sort of liked. The Vertix and Tx5 I did not like it was like the Triax to me very short and not a great shoot for me. I’m now a PSE fan boy due to the cams and the prices and will stick with PSE.Unless Mathews bought out a 33-35 inch bow below 4lb and had adjustable cams like the PSE. We live in hope just my opinion.

Daft for archery stores outside the US that you have to buy modules. We're in 2019. Manufacturers need to wise up. My Bowmadness should be in my hands next week.

It’s all a matter of preference and how you shoot...lots of people will buy whatever bow is cool at the time and not actually shoot them. I shot the triax vs vertix and it’s not worth the extra money to get the new vertix. They are roughly the same except you get a longer bow and a little better grip which neither are all that great but I liked the triax over the vertix and it just felt a little better. I used to shoot pse and now I like the triax over the pse I have!

What about the prime logic bows. I'm really wanting a elite ritual though.

Your right this is a bow for someone who knows how to shoot not for paper killer's it is for the guy that has one shot and needs to make it count

I can see he pushes pse in Australia but in the US there not top bows and Mathews modules are $40 but normally if you buy the bow ar the shop they exchange modules no charges I'm shooting a 19 Vertix and there $999.99 here

It might be beneficial to put the bows on a draw board and measure the actual draw length before preforming your review. Some bow manufacturers run longer to inflate their speeds, and every Matthews I've ever worked on was 3/4"+ longer than advertised.

I just bought a used Triax, then I saw this... hmmm, did I make a mistake..? I also Have a Halon X comp and that shoots great. Your grouping just seems weirdly bad for that range? And I Know you can shoot... could something been off in the setup? I think I Will try the same distance and see what grouping I Will get just to compare... if it’s that bad the bow Will Have to go. I also Have a really cheap Man kung EX7 Thorns and that shoots easily 9 arrows inside the yellow.. Actually shot 291 on a Vegas face With it yesterday, and it cost around 350 USD... thought the Triax should be a step up, really dissapointing if it’s not :-/

Did Matthews drop the Halon X Comp? It’s no longer on their web site which is a surprise.

If you use a Hinge or thumb release, your draw has to be one inch longer.

I do think that are plenty of archers out there who can shoot a much better group with this bow from the same distance. I'm also sceptical after seeing guys shooting bullseye with one arrow from 90-100 yards/meters after they have "tunned" the bow.

The draw was wayyy too aggressive for me when I shot it. The shot was good, but the draw at the start was almost unbearable for me

Veritx feels even better to shoot. If I was after short bow it would be Vertix

What is a normal bow I guess he means pse since he pushes them hard worked in an archery shop that sold pse and Mathews Hoyt and bowtech out sold them every year never saw more issues on any top brand than pse factory strings were terrible lots of timing issues. Very hard sell in the area I live in
