If you are planning to buy buy as early as possible, then you may get subsidy and reduced rates. I am going to complete 3 years of ownership. Completed 1.2 lakh km. In future, if electricity cost increases, mostly fuel cost also will increase. You may get more benefits from the vehicle than resale cost. It is mainly depending on usage.

The grid issue is real. If the electric grid is not getting augmented with the requirements, it is gonna make lot of problems. Let's hope the grid will upgraded as required. But if you are talking about the increase of pollution due to thermal power plants, I don't think it is correct. Consider 50,000 ICE vehicles are there, each vehicle makes pollution. If all these 50,000 vehicles are converted to EV, grid load will increase and grid should be upgraded. If you leave that matter aside, whatever energy required by the EV which is generated by thermal plant will be more efficient than each of the vehicle. So effectively, the pollution from thermal plant for charging 50,000 cars should be less than 50,000 ICE cars. There are two more factors which reduces pollution. 1) Electric vehicles are more efficient, so the energy requirement will be far less compared to ICE vehicles. As energy requirement is less, pollution is also less. 2) For ICE vehicles, for filling fuels to the fuel pumps, additional vehicles/equipments (including tanker lorry, ships, refinary etc.) and hence more pollution is required whereas electricity transmission won't cause much more pollution and it is relatively far more efficient than transportation of fuel to each petrol pump.

Cradle to Grave emission footprint എന്ന് search ചെയ്യുക. ആധികാരിക government / independent /NGO എന്നിവരുടെ പഠനങ്ങൾ കിട്ടും. ഏറ്റവും മോശം scenario യിൽ പോലും ഒരു EV , പെട്രോൾ കാറിനെ അപേക്ഷിച്ചു 37 % കുറവ് emission നേ വരുത്തൂ. ഏറ്റവും നല്ല scenario യിൽ അത് 83 % കുറവായിരിക്കും.

Video കണ്ടില്ല എന്ന് തോന്നുന്നു. ഓരോ ഓരോ വണ്ടിയിൽ ഉള്ള engine നേക്കാൾ efficient ആണ് വലിയ താപ നിലയങ്ങൾ. കൂടാതെ വൈദ്യുതിക്ക് transmission cost -um കുറവാണ്.

Charging station നോക്കിയാണ് EV വാങ്ങുന്നത് എങ്കിൽ, കുറച്ചു കൂടെ range കൂടിയ EV വന്ന ശേഷം വാങ്ങാൻ ശ്രമിക്കുക. കൂടുതലും വീട്ടിൽ നിന്ന് ചാർജ് ചെയ്യുന്നവർക്ക് ആണ് EV കൂടുതൽ പ്രയോജനപ്പെടുക. പിന്നെ വല്ലപ്പോഴും ദൂരയാത്ര ചെയ്യുമ്പോൾ മാത്രമാണ് fast charging stations വേണ്ടി വരിക. നമ്മുടെ കേരളത്തിൽ നല്ലോരു വിഭാഗം ആളുകളുടെയും കാർ വർഷത്തിൽ ഭൂരിഭാഗം സമയവും വീട്ടിൽ തന്നെ ആയിരിക്കും. അങ്ങനെ ഉള്ളവർക്ക് ഇപ്പൊൾ ഒട്ടും യോചിച്ച്ത് അല്ല EV.

3 വർഷം warranty ഉള്ള ഡീസൽ കാറിൻറെ ഒരു screw പോലും മാറ്റിയിട്ടില്ല. പക്ഷേ , 8 വർഷം warranty ഉള്ള EV battery എട്ടാം വർഷം തന്നെ മാറ്റണം!!!! എന്തൊരു വികലമായ ന്യായം !!!! കാനഡയിൽ 5 ലക്ഷം km ഓടിയ Tesla യിൽ ഇപ്പോഴും 80 % battery capacity ഉണ്ട്. ഇങ്ങനെ ലോകമെമ്പാടും പല EV കളുടെയും report ഉകൾ ഉണ്ട്. അതൊക്കെ ഒന്ന് വായിക്കുന്നത് നന്നായിരിക്കും. അല്ലാതെ ഓട്ടോറിക്ഷയുടെയും സ്കൂട്ടറിന്റെയും battery യുമായി തുലനം ചെയ്യുന്നത് മണ്ടത്തരമാണ്.

​@@shadintthayyullathil7130അങ്ങനെ മാറ്റി വെക്കാൻ സാധ്യത കുറവാണ്. ബാറ്ററി എന്നത് വണ്ടിയുടെ ഒരു പ്രധാന ഭാഗം ആണ്. അതിൻ്റെ കുറേയധികം കാര്യങ്ങൾ വെച്ചാണ് വണ്ടിയിൽ മറ്റ് പലതും വെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത് (pack ൻ്റെ formfactor, cooling, charging cables, suspension etc.). So അത് മാറ്റാൻ സാധ്യത കുറവാണ്. ചിലപ്പോൾ after market കിട്ടി എന്ന് വരാം.

സാധാരണ സാഹചര്യങ്ങളിൽ തുടർച്ചയായി ഉപയോഗിച്ചാലും ബാറ്ററി ചൂടാവാൻ സാധ്യത കുറവാണ്‌. വൈദ്യത മോട്ടോർ ഉപയോഗിച്ച്‌ പ്രവർത്തിപ്പിക്കുന്ന ഫാൻ, AC പമ്പ്‌ സെറ്റ്‌, മിക്സി തുടങ്ങിയവ നോക്കൂ.

ഞാൻ വാങ്ങിയിട്ട് 3 വർഷം ആകുന്നു. വണ്ടിയെ കുറിച്ച് ഒന്നും അന്വേഷിക്കാതെ, ആലോചിക്കാതെ എടുത്തവർ ചിലപ്പോൾ പെട്ട് പോയിട്ടുണ്ടാകും. ഞാൻ സംസാരിച്ചിട്ടുള്ളതിൽ ഭൂരിഭാഗം പേർക്കും പെട്ട് പോയതായി തോന്നിയിട്ടില്ല. മിക്കവരും ഇനി വണ്ടി എടുത്താലും EV തന്നെ എടുക്കാൻ സാധ്യത ഉള്ളൂ.
