matilda the musical performs on surprise surprise with special guest Grace, who has a heart problem, and her surprise was to get to perform with the cast of matilda!

I never understood why they didn't add her to the actual cast, she did amazingly!

unfortunately she had a medical condition that prevents her from safely being able to perform on stage for extended periods of time, like a 3 hour musical, but she is incredible! and it's so wonderful she got this opportunity

I agree but she wouldn't be able to do because my cousin wanted to be in it but she couldn't because of heart conditions as well.

Dear Grace I was diagnosed with Congenital heart disease at 7 weeks old and I love Singing acting and being on stage. I love Matilda too.

It’s really too bad she couldn’t officially join the cast because of her heart condition. She was amazing and definitely could’ve been casted!!

I can relate to this cuz when I was younger I always wanted to do Matilda the musical at school and be in it. And so I asked if we could do Matilda the next year and so we did. And I ended up being Matilda! So like Grace, we both got what we wanted and we were both Matilda!

She did amazing !!!! Great voice! Did great under pressure. She should have been cast if she could with her condition. And they needed to mess up her hair more.

I know they rearranged things to accommodate her, but knowing that the character of Matilda isn't in the Revolting Children piece makes it seem very off. They might as well have done the full Naughty song. Just an opinion.

For any performance with the whole cast, they do naughty and revolting children to include everyone. They also usually do when I grow up, but this was just for the kids.

Actually, i always thought it would be cool to see Matilda in Revolting Children even though it's out of character for her. And it was cool. But even cooler would have been if they did "2 girl naughty" where the Matildas march to the front of the stage at the end and finish with the stance. And it would have been a better tribute to the "girl power" displayed by Grace throughout her life. IMHO. That being said, this was still awesome. 👍👍👍

If always loved to perform my hole life I’m a big theatre kid and I’ve always dreamed of being in Matilda The Musical but there’s one problem and that is that I’m 5,6 and it’s usually 4,10 to perform and it’s really upsetting for me

On Broadway Matilda had to be four foot three or shorter and the height cut off for the rest of the kids was five feet or five foot one. They were also pre measured before auditioning and if they grew three inches they were let go and needed to be recast. So u are too tall to play any of the younger kids let alone Matilda, but u could prob still play one of the older kids or adults.

7:02 when they started clapping i got mad, like you don't do that for a show, on broadway or for any number, because it could mess up the singers if you clap off beat, and you don't know what's coming next, and it's just.. weird? they're clapping on the wrong beat, which for me as a theater kid is just so distracting.. like this isn't a concert, clap when the numbers over smh.

Imagine if Grace had been too tall…she’s very lucky cuz Matilda had to be 4 foot 3 or shorter. If she was a half an inch taller or more, she wouldn’t have been able to do it 😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮 that’s why the kids are already pre measured before auditioning
