Great video guys 👍.....always put in 6 feeder fulls at start of session......if you have clipped up..(second bomb rod set up further out)....the angle of the final resting place is as you said depending on depth....Will be well beyond....I've always put a bomb behind the final resting place .....done most of my match fishing in the 80s.....with great success!.....😉

Great video again, thanks. Two things I would love to see. First having a freediver do the filming you will have a chance of seeing fish. Secondly, I would like to see why pulling your feeder a little will set-off a bite. I think it is because you've pulled your hook line tight but it could be because you put your hook where the ground bait is.

absolutely brilliant video matrix Rob and Jamie, that's opened my eyes on casting and what happens to my feed afterwards, that's changed my look out, and putting a little distance on when fishing, thank you very much for that video. 🤔

Great info :) Possible the extra distance could also be caused by the mono stretching. I've seen a lot of folk get dead depth wrong when plumbing up due to mono stretch.

Hi Jamie was you using mono on your feeding rod would the also count as to why the feeder was landing further because of the stretch in the line as braid there is no stretch

Thanks for this. Extremely helpful. I was surprised how little bait there appeared to be on the bottom and also how much of it was hidden by the weeds. Given that fish find food by scent as well as sight, perhaps there could be a case for using stronger smelling baits on weedy waters (what smell to use is a whole other can of worms, of course). Wetter groundbait in the feeder seems to be the best way to ensure a more even spread with fewer lumps and create a visible cloud.

Thanks Jamie and Rob that was a eye opener with the baiting up feeder rod when i have been fishing my local rez i and i have been struggling for bights i have took the line clip off and gone around 2 metres past my clip for my original fishing line and started to get bights and now i can see why this has happened thanks again for the great videos and work yo put in to help everyone with there fishing

I know this is 2 years old...but I'd love to see this on a river...especially the Trent. From what I can observe and If I took the observations. I'd put in 5 times the amount...and as I say that ! Rob Hughes your diver says, three times! And if I took this info to the Trent. I'd probably put in 25-40 times the amount of feed in with your large feeder...and I'd do that at the very start. Then set up and probably put the same amount in again and that would be 5-10 yards out....whether I'm wrong I don't know. But like I suggested I'd love to see the kind of info you get from a river. Also..the amount of bait you have put in in the feeder, does it compare to a carp angler who puts in a pva sock of perhaps 30 boliies in? I've no idea what the comparitable size or weight is, but I'm betting. Carp anglers seem to have this right, especially when they also continue the boilies over the top... and with a probable double boilie on the hook! Just asking Jamie, not arguing, just asking questions. I'm still learning at bloody 60!

Probably worth taking a leaf from the carp boys and use braid on your feeding feeder as no stretch to tighten bait up. Great, video guys love the x3 approach makes, sense

That's a great idea. Hooklength materials vary in buoyancy and it would be interesting to see how they lay on the bottom, whether they form a bow, etc.

Excellent, would of loved to of seen the feeder with a hook length on, does the hook land next to the feeder creating lots of slack line or does it settle away from the feeder on a tight line been more direct to the tip🤔
@DjDolHaus86
@DjDolHaus86 2 жыл бұрын
It's already been tested in one of the previous episodes, in short the answer was anything beyond 20cm was a waste unless you're trying to catch on the drop because that's generally where it's going to land regardless of what you do with the cast or hooklength material
