honestly, considering how long they've been doing it, it wouldn't be weird for people from gen 0 to gen 2 to decide to graduate as well, they've been doing it for years. it just a matter of when because it's coming, it's impressive for a chan who are not even one of the talents to stay this long in a company, she did so well during her stay.

I just hope it's a mid level vtuber company fishing her to become an executive and not the horrible reason she's given. Quitting a pretty good job for a family member that's sick is just horrible. It means the family member is extremely close(parents, a partner or a sibling or even a kid) and is pretty screwed. I remember my cousin working through her 3yo's leukemia as a single parent. So shit's gotta be serious.

The sad thing is that A-chan has been gone for 3 months to care for a family member, and is now leaving Cover. While I don't trust the nuance of an unofficial translation of her posted notice, it's not hard to imagine that rather than choosing to leave, the amount of care her family member needs forced her to.

I doubt Sora will stay after this. She'll probably be graduating by the end of the year to reunite w/ A-chan. It's clear management didn't want to pay a-chan any further while she was on her extended vacation due to family reasons. So she left. She unfortunately didn't bring in residual income like Gura & Hachama when they went a year long hiatus, thus, they had no reason to keep her around on the balance sheet.

It would be the exact same situation with any other job, which is literally, if you don't work, how do you get paid? Why would A-chan, who has loved this job for 7 years, leave just because she wasn't getting paid for no work? Obviously, she'll likely pursue some type of other career path now, but whether or not they brought them residual income is not the only benefit a person of her status and experience provides to Cover. Her presence alone literally carried Hololive in so many ways, and money is likely the least of Cover's issues considering their success. They have always put the talents' health first, so why would A-chan be an exception?

It sucks but that's life. Sometimes no matter how well you do, you get slammed by forces waaaay outside of your control, and the best you can do is push forward. I'm sure A-chan didn't want to resign, but her job wants probably have no weight on the matter. I just hope she stays well and maintains contact with her old workmates.

It's kinda happening even now. HoloJustice (the newest Hololive English gen) never had a change to officially collab with A-chan (they probably talked once or two with A-chan, but zero official collabs as talents).

Yeah, it's kinda like Sana's situation. Although Sana was the Idol talent, the reason for leaving is kinda similar, but instead of her own health issues, it's one of her family's.

I don't know about JP, but in the US and EU it's pretty common for a business to rehire a former employee who left in good standing if they want to come back, provided there's space in the roster (and management isn't mad that they left regardless of their performance or company standing). At the rate they're growing, I don't expect it would be particularly difficult, if/when she's able to return (provided she wants to).

Well, she CREATED hololive for Sora, so I hope COVER doesn't forget her.

The reason for A-Chan's absence was known back in March already when she announced it, which was the exact same family situation mentioned. Unfortunately it looks like the situation isn't going to get better soon, which is why she's retiring now.
