THANK YOU! Absolutely correct! And the best moment he showed that, I think, was in The Rings of Akhaten when he offers up his memories and then kind of slumps in fatigue. Season 5 remains my favourite season of the entire show's run, one boring two parter and one naff vampires episode are the low points but excluding that it's all top notch and a lot of that is on Moffat's writing and Smith's performance. When they're both at their best they are a geronimo-- I mean fantastic combo! (wasn't personally a fan of the last couple seasons they did together but the 50th special was phenomenal too)

I remember getting my picture with him during the 50th celebration in London. It was day 2, I definitely wasn’t the first person in line, and that line zigzagged out the door and well down the hall. He took the time to have a little chat with each person and make sure they got the photo they wanted, never stopped smiling and being exactly the person you’d expect him to be. He must’ve done that for hours without much break, and he was still chipper as ever. Matt is such a genuinely nice person.

@@Splatinum69 Wow somehow you managed to not say one true thing. 1. Yes, Matt Smith's original intention was to stay on for Series 8, and planning had begun on it with him in mind. He later changed his mind, and decided to leave to pursue projects in Hollywood. Jenna Coleman even said that when she was filming series 7 it was known that Matt had decided to leave 2. Capaldi decided to leave due to the role being exhausting. Nothing suggests that he was forced out. 3. Whittaker also wasn't forced out. Chibnall and her always planned to do three series (That whole 5-year plan quote never even came from Chibnall). There's nothing to suggest that she was fired.

Its frustrating how Davies doesn't seem to respect Moffat's run and only focuses on continuing right where he left off in 2010. Especially given how Moffat was always doing his best to respect what came before him during his era.
@brewster_43 ай бұрын
@@terragthegreat175 I'm less frustrated about that since I was expecting Ncuti's run to be mostly a clean slate. What really frustrates me is how the 60th for the most part chose to ignore Moffat and Chibnall's run. New Who has never really gotten its own version of the five doctors where all the eras are brought together as a celebration. The 60th could have been this. Imagine a 3 hour 60th anniversary that includes David Tennant, Matt Smith, Jodie Whittaker, and Ncuti Gatwa.
@chazo13673 ай бұрын
@@brewster_4 whole cool, Jodie isn’t going to return immediately after leaving and Ncuti wasn’t available until the end of the shooting, he was busy with Barbie and such. Just having Matt would be a repeat of the 50th and Chibnall already did the whole celebration of Who with his final episode so it’s been done.
@brewster_43 ай бұрын
@@chazo1367 1. Ncuti was available. It was RTD’s plan all along to have 13 regenerate into Tennant. Him wanting to work with Tennant and Tate again was the whole reason he came back to Doctor Who 2. Power of the Doctor wasn’t a celebration of all of Doctor Who. It was a celebration of Classic Who. The only returning new who character in that episode that didn’t originate from the Whittaker era was Kate. 3. If they didn’t want to only have Smith and Tennant again they could have either A. Used classic Doctors too (yes they were in Power of the Doctor, but only in short cameos not in a full appearance) B. Brought back Smith and not Tennant. Tennant already got to be the only returning Doctor for the 50th. Someone else should get the spot for once.

Matt Smith has said he'd love to play the Master in a future episode and I think that would be amazing. Imagine the Mater regenerating to have 11s face and goes to visit Amy in Rory in the past, the Doctor now would have to go back and face them with a different face and save them from someone wearing his old one. I know people talk about time locking with the angles how he can't go back but I think he can go and see them, maybe not at the moment they were teleported to the past but defiantly 10 years later in their lives. I think the doctor was scared tho' because they were his family for a time and he doesn't wanna worry about their safety again. Remember The Doctor carry 1000s of years worth of Peter Parker angst

Matt was My Doctor before I even watched Doctor Who. I decided to watch his regeneration when I was 6 and I was so upset that he was leaving just because the only Doctor I ever knew was gone, even though I never actually watched him properly. I think Matt did the best job as the Doctor (not saying he was the best Doctor, although he was for me), not only in terms of how well he played the role even when the script was less than favourable for him compared to alot of the other Doctors. But also because everyone thought it would be impossible to be better than Tennant, and the fact that in some peoples eyes he was, shows how incredible of a job he did.

I think I'll definitely be back, he just needs a little more time, and the right script. He's really busy with house of dragons right now, but I feel like the 75th anniversary is just the right amount of time for him to come back. You have to figure he was the lead on their 50th, which was a huge deal, and the biggest anniversary episode they've ever had, so 60th felt a little too soon, plus it was a very different narrative than previous big anniversary special.

Matt Smith isn't my favourite but he's very good. For someone who wasnt really a fan before, he really did his research and became a massive fan himself which is great. Chris Eccleston u can tell from interviews hes not interested in the show but more the fans I think. Jodie didnt watch any doctor who from what chris chibnall said i think and it shows, probably at her own cost as a doctor. If she had become a fan, i think she would have been like matt and embodied the doctor more but nah, she is my least favourite by far unfortunately. Matt knows that character inside and out as you can see from his time, which i really respect him for.
