The tractor paint I used is from tractor supply it’s called Majic Tractor paint.

I like this young brother. I have been following his videos for a while with his rustoleum rattle can paint jobs he inspired me to paint my 98 Chevy obs, and it came out looking great. People think I had it done at the paint shop. I'm about to get a PT cruiser down the line , so this gives me some good ideas. Thanks for this video.

It's impossible to get tired of these videos!! This came out looking very clean! You usually say that it's not a show car quality but obviously you don't know your own amazing skills my friend. Would love to see a video or series from you where you pull off a show quality build. There's no doubt in my mind you could pull off something legendary. 😃

Tip for next time the paint need to be like water . If you want an nice flat paint . Some body who paint planes told me about it. Text it on small project so you can find wright ratio . 😉🤪

rustoleum spray cans don't orange peel. That is how it needs to spray. Just like plastic dip simple 😉🤓🥸🧐. God bless you and your family keep doing these nice contents .

@@poemnel13 yes the orange peel from spray cans are so minimal and this gun has a super small tip so in order to use the tractor paint I would need a primer gun with thicker flow tip. The thinner the better is right when it comes to small tips. I prefer spraying thicker because less coats but with the proper tip of course lol

I agree. I also found a PT cruiser turbo engine at the local junkyard which would be sick to swap in but I’m not looking for speed on this one.

I have always wanted to see them looking a bit more like old school. Wider body and lower rooflines. I may not be able to do all of it myself, but if I can find one cheap enough. It’s the look that needs doing so even one with a clapped out engine is okay.

Not sure but I do know the more money you spend on these airless sprayer systems the nicer the spray patterns and results. This one was like $50 and it did okay but sadly the cheaper one from harbor freight did better I think. Either way I’m not mad because it came out pretty good

Great video! Really love these budget-minded DIYs! In your experience, does the hardener add a bit of gloss making it a little closer to satin? If you added the hardener to an already satin paint do you think it would be too close to gloss? Thanks!

Thanks. The gun definitely didn’t spray like I hoped but I managed to salvage the situation. Next time more thinner and it would be fine I think.

Hi James, just subscribed! I plan on spraying my s10 truck with the Majik stuff. I was wondering and it’s something that has me concerned is that Majik tells you to wait 24 hours before applying and subsequent coats. I noticed you only waited an hour or two before applying the second coat. Any issues with trapped solvent or popping? Thanks is man and I’m a big fan of yours, you have a great attitude!

I prefer different spray methods depending on the color, car, and mood I’m in lol. Spray can has been my go to for the longest time but it is fun playing with the different spray methods.

I know this is off topic but do you happen to know the ring gaps you used for the d16 high compression build. im having my block bored to 75.5 and did you use oem valves or flat valves thanks man keep up the videos.

Oh dang that was years ago. I can’t remember but i did them looser than stock specs but not quite turbo specs. In between them both lol I think it was in my videos on this channel but can’t remember

Would the amount of reducer impact the orange peel? The thinner the paint the less chances of orange peel, but more layers will be needed for coverage?

you need to add paint thinner to help with your orange peel my guy. Might require more coats, but it will lay a lot better.

Like I said b4 never really was a fan of the pt but its turning out great. And kinda growing on me as far as rat rod potential. May not be of interest for u on here but maybe your truck. Check out the headlight retrofit video I did. I think it might would look cool on the pt with some demon eyes

@@JamesDguy yeah understandable. I like them better then the ones that u can get on ebay. The retrofit just look better to me then all the extra crap that's added Into the after market ones. Still have the stock look with a little extra added.

@@GlassWerx My problem is I can’t stand the projector style the visibility has always been terrible in vehicles i had them round projectors in. For me just a LED bulb and it’s good to go haha. To each their own though. I’ll give it a view now.

@@JamesDguy with a good hid setup and right temp bulb like 6500k and proper focusing iv found them be just as good as the leds. I have led in everything until now. This the only one I don't and was mainly to try something new. The one thing I don't like about projectors so much is the light output on oncoming traffic. So many people don't adjust them right and they are blinding and dangerous

You have to buy the $400 + airless paint sprayers to get a good smooth finish.

Not true. Just use some reducer and patience. (and back off that flow!) I pull off a much better finish even with a cheap gun.

I want to paint my car a matte color. I have already laid down 2 coats smoke Grey. I just want to somehow degloss the final coat any suggestions?

You can wet sand the grey with 1000 grit with soapy water then step up to 2000 grit until it’s smooth you can then use a matte clear but without me trying it I don’t know for 100% fact it will work.

Don't use their reducer, just use acetone. It works way better and is cheaper.

Cheap, durable and it works so why not. I mentioned in the video i was testing it as a cheap way. Idk if you seen my other videos but I made a electric spray gun paint job with tractor paint video and after wet sanding and clear coating it came out looking like a professional job 👍🏻 I test different methods and ways to do stuff.

I don’t paint cars for the general public. It’s hard enough to paint my own cars as I don’t have a place to do it all the time. I was blessed to be able to use the paint booth to do my truck and pt cruiser. The body shop info in description can take care of you though.
