That's a definite maybe. I'd like to have it when I load up the shed, but odds are I won't get to the real thing until spring. Will likely split the difference and throw together a temp ramp in the mean time.

Couldn't you close both doors and put shims underneath, then use a shim to check hinge-side and top - then install the actual hinges? I notice you open the doors to set it up, but was thinking of doing it while closed. That way you could see if the doors fit. I know nothing about this, would just like to know your train of thought on the above.

Dear Matt, Thanks for the best how to build a shed video series on KZfaq! I'm building my first shed 10 X 13 ft and want to use 9 cement tubes at a depth of about 42", that's the frost line here in NYC. Are 10“ cylinders big enough? I'm gokmg to have the tops about 6" above grade to keep the structure off the ground. Thanks!

+Paul Baldwin Depends on how you count the tools that I bought for the project, but still have to do other projects. Materials alone ran ~$1500. I was probably more like $2K out of pocket by the time it was all done. I still believe it compares favorably with the pre-fab jobs from the big box stores.

Is there a building code that limits the max size a "shed" can be? Great videos btw.

In my (and most of them, around here anyway) county you need to get a building permit for anything that is larger than 100 square feet. I'd be willing to be that there's also a height restriction; that you can only build something X tall regardless of footprint. Getting the building permit is usually a cheap and easy affair though. Don't let the process put you off. Even if it turns out you didn't need it, having the permit is cheap insurance against having "discussion" with the neighbors :)
