The story of Peter teaches us that a testimony of Christ is not enough, and will NOT be enough in the coming days. This same Peter denies Christ 3 times in the very near future. He had a testimony, but it was not enough; even after Christ's crucifixion he went back to fishing. But, after the day of Pentecost, when the disciples received the baptism of fire and the Holy Ghost, Peter was not afraid to preach, even when threatened with death. This was NOT the same person. He had been born again and had a mighty change - he was a new creature. That is why it is important for us to understand the difference between a testimony of Christ, and being converted - it IS NOT the same. Great story!

I loved the faith and humility of this Canaan woman. For someone who was denied 3 times and called a dog, it takes a lot of humility and faith in Christ and his gospel to bear and endure all that. There's no way a non believer can endure what this woman went through. It seems like this woman knew Christ and had already accepted him as the son of God in her heart and she knew the gospel was only for the house of Israel, and she was an outsider. I'm sure Christ knew the precise moment and location to meet with her and test her faith for the sake of her daughter and also for herself. Fortunately, she came prepared, her faith was unmovable and she passed her test and her daughter was healed. I'm humbled by the character of this woman.

It's a blessing to be able to hear the beautiful messages in these amazing CFM presentations. I love what Bro Griffin said about the Syro Phoenician woman. This is what I know of the Lord too. In the silence, and in the waiting there is growth and progression. It's not always easy to recognize at first. I love the reference to Elder G Scott's talk. I love too what Bro Halverson said about the 'least of these' and still being within the boundaries of the Saviour's love. This is a very important reminder. I think at times we have our 'least of these' moments in life. It is so easy to forget or not feel the Saviour near during these times. These beautiful messages are a big help. When the mind and emotions are saying one thing, it's always comforting to have the words of the spirit speak truth, and point out things as they really are, and not as our emotions perceive it to be. Thank you for a most beautiful presentation SC. Would you mind leaving space at the end for Bro Halverson to say 'And spread light and goodness' please? Because he only says this sometimes. However, I have noticed the presentation ends right after Bro Griffin says 'know that you are loved'. Have a blessed day everyone ❤️

I loved how Taylor explains what the response the Savior may choose to use in our plea for answers to questions or help. Silence. No. Yes... Each helps us to grow and progress! That is an insightful way to look at each of these responses. My prayers are going to be different now - especially as I learn to listen to the response.

Many have voiced their opinion saying they miss Taylor saying,”Spread light and goodness at the end of the lesson. I have to admit that at first it did not matter to me. But lately I feel different about it. This is why. Tyler first says,”Know that you are loved.”Meaning that the Savior loves us. He loves us unconditionally. So, if we love Him the only thing we can really give Him through our love is our obedience , so doesn’t it make sense that we should share with others His message of hope, redemption and love. We can do this by caring about others, following Christ’s teachings to show in return that we really love Him,too. That means that we actively choose to spread light and goodness to mankind. We , by doing this show Him we love him ,too. The two sentences go hand in hand.

After going through a really trying time in 1994, the Lord guided me to a church that I desperately needed. After going for many months, there was one service that seemed to rock me and made me angry because it didn't feel right. Therefore, I asked the Heavenly Father the question, and he responded with the answer I already knew. At that point, I made a vow to the Father that I would not join another church unless they could respond to the question exactly as he had given it to me. It took me more than 20 years to locate someone who could answer the question completely and without adding anything. To my complete astonishment, it turned out to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, which I had never intended to inquire about because, based on what I had been taught about the church, I did not think they could provide an answer. However, since this person was family, it accidentally came up because it was family. My question for me seemed to be an easy question with a simple answer "Who is Jesus Christ?" It took more than 20 years to hear the short, accurate, and true answer because some people thought the answer was confusing and needed to be discussed in a group setting. As a result, some people came up with an answer that is nearly accurate but incorrect, and that is taught by many. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has now welcomed my husband and me as members since 2017, the restored church. This question from Matthew 16 is crucial, so crucial that our Savior and Brother Jesus Christ felt compelled to ask it.

Thank you both for your testimonies!Question: when I pray, it’s to Heavenly Father; and yet I hear ‘Jesus loves us and provides blessings and healing in His way and timing’;and I understand that the Holy Ghost also answers prayers by telling us truth of all things. Yet, I pray to my Father, without having an ‘intimate relationship’ with My Redeemer even hesitant to say His name when I feel I’m sinking in the waters reaching for His hand (do I still pray to Father?). (Some in our ward pray to Jesus from the pulpit.) I believe He has shown us the way back to Heavenly Father. And then again, I think it’s the Lord Jesus who greets us, makes judgement and says ‘enter in’ (or will that be Adam or Joseph Smith🤔). I want to pray and thank Jesus for His work and Glory, and also the many blessings He and The Spirit provide, I understand I pray to God the Father in the name of Jesus Christ, and (hopefully) do so by Whispering of the Holy Ghost. I’m not even sure what my question is, but can you provide some clarity of their roles. I understand they are ‘one in purpose’, but individually they have different roles. I guess my role is to have faith, hope and (now and then) charity; I know I need His Atonement daily; I hope I’m a worthy disciple of Jesus as well as a daughter of God…you may need the gift of discernment to figure out what my question is, but I know you can give proper insight. THANK YOU SO MUCH! From A Daughter of God who is trying to add line-upon-line to my thin Gospel understanding…

KZfaq automatically transcribes. You can find it by opening "more" on the description line (same place to get the show notes). Just be aware that the transcription is every word and false start they may say and does not include any capital letters, punctuation, or breaks. I've used it to copy quotes sometimes but it's pretty overwhelming to read a whole episode that way.

Taylor and Tyler have been friends for 11+ years. Taylor recognized that Tyler has a gift for teaching the Gospel, and begged Tyler to record his lectures to BYU students to make available online. Tyler always declined because he didn't want to draw any attention to himself in that way. When CFM rolled around for Book of Mormon 2020, Taylor approached Tyler and asked him to record a brief episode on the introduction to the BoM. Tyler agreed. Over time they kept recording episodes together and that eventually morphed into what you all now know as Come Follow Me Insights. Taylor has said on multiple occasions that Tyler provides the meat and application while he provides the color commentary. If you wonder why there is a disparity in time sharing, it is by design. Our editors even not many occasions where Tyler will stop teaching to give Taylor an opportunity to share, but Taylor declines, and instead motions for Tyler to continue. Hopefully this explanation puts your mind at ease regarding the setup of Come Follow Me Insights. Thanks for watching! We hope that your knowledge and love for the Savior increase each time you study with us!

Regarding the Mount of Transfiguration, the Bible dictionary says, "On the mount, the Savior, Moses, and Elias (Elijah) gave the promised keys of the priesthood to Peter, James, and John (HC 3:387)," I don't read anything in Matthew 17 that says they received priesthood keys. The only reference is History of the church vol 3 pg 387 and I'm looking but don't see anything about the mount of Transfiguration on that page. Was this something Joseph Smith was revealed?

Thank you for your lessons. I have a question that I have not found the answer to. There are so many examples/stories in the New Testament where Jesus rebukes an evil spirit out of the body, even legions. Evil spirts overtaking someone's body seems so prevalent in Jesus' ministry. Why? I never heard of that happening to someone in our day to the extent it did during Jesus' earthly ministry.

I like that you guys make these videos, but I haven't followed you from the start, so I don't know how you may have introduced yourselves from the very first time. I see what your description says as that this is intended as a supplement. But is there anything in the Church Handbook that says we can't count this AS our full study in case it helps us act on it if we struggle to do it on our own? Nothing from general conference or 1P letters has said that we still need to do it on our own if we can't really arrange to do it with family (live alone; visits with parents don't consist of this, etc.). So is there a special calling that motivates these videos to be made for people who need an outside push, or... how does this work? And were you guys called on a general level?
