I’ve heard a former scout (from Redline Report?) say… Apparently 2 years ago, he was only 5’6. He grew to 6’3 in less than 2years (maybe even 1). So his legs haven’t had time to catch up in terms of strength. Hence why his skating is not the best. But I think 2-3 years of development… and this guy will be a MONSTER !!!

Hope hes still on the board for Detroits second FRP 17/18 if he can fix his skating, He can be a really dangerous and big right-handed goal scoring forward..

My biggest gripe with Wood is he doesn’t use his large size enough along the boards to deliver hard hits. The skating can get better, but I personally see enough here to think he can at least be functional/average in that regard at the NHL level. If he can get to above average as a skater and use his size more on defense from a physicality standpoint, he’ll be a guy every team will want to have on their team. Everything else, I view as strong points in his game.

I definitely want my Wings to take this guy. I think Stevie Y may have his eye on a USA U18 player but am hoping we get Wood.

In your last video, I said I would like to see my Yotes take Leonard at 12. But I wouldn't mind Wood at 12 either. Be interesting to see how he develops when a NHL strength and conditioning coach as well as a skating coach get the hold of him.

Not a huge player comparison guy, but Wood give me huge Jason Robertson vibes, even in his skating mechanics, IQ, hands and shot. Would prefer him over Honzek but don’t be shocked if they both go right around 10. Could see either in Detroit with the tools they have.

He doesn't have any skating problem or skating techniques, his stance is good and he have a really long powerfull stride and you can see that he's fast. His problem is his morphology wich make him doesn't look good when skating. He have what we call ''bumping knees''. He is growing fast and his legs are not straight, they are bending inwards, this is not elegant to our eyes but it can be an advantage when accelarating by crossover.

I see the Hawks taking this guy at 20 I don't like taking players that need to work on skating. Dach anybody. Although I don't think his skating is that bad. Edge work make up for that. NHL is more of a set up league. Not a ton of breakaways. Feet looks quick to.

Honestly I would be pretty choked if he drops outside the top 20 I mean Ok he is not a great skater by any means but he is big so I can't see where it would be as big of a concern to justify that drop kid is talented enough to not drop this far very good scorer smart etc top 20 all day but we'll see the 2021 draft drove me insane I can't remember how many times I said "WHAT ?!
