I head out with Monty during an April snowstorm. We got at least a foot of snow and winds were right around 25 to 30 MPH sustained with some big gusts. We cook up some yummy food and get cozy in a nice shelter.

I am a 27-year-old female, busy high-stress ICU nurse, literally no adult camping experience at all, and I binge watch your videos every night. I don't know if you know this or not but you really do relieve so much anxiety for a lot of people. I feel like I am camping with you and hanging out with an old friend. You're able to bring back a lot of nostalgia, I think you do that for a lot of your viewers. Makes me think of childhood and camping with friends all the time, not even sure why I gave it up. Anyway, thank you. I hope your channel continues to grow and that you are rewarded because you put so much effort into all of your videos.

Nah, he’s still way young and won’t be fully grown for another 5 years or so. He’s doing what some young men do to become fully grown. I’d say he is probably a little older than my son who’s 25.

I appreciate a man who's not afraid to show how much he loves his dog. I see too many guys who treat dogs like accessories - like letting them ride unleashed in the back of a truck. This dog even has his own sleeping bag and pad - Love it!

I have a hard time sleeping at nite and I would have to take medicine to make me go to bed. About a month ago I come across this channel and that nite I fall asleep 😴 with ease and peace omg. I don’t know what it is about this man and this dog 🐕 but they have become apart of my life in a amazing way. I’m thankful very thankful it’s funny I can’t bring myself to watch other camping 🏕 because they will never amount to u and Monty the dog. So thank u from the bottom of my heart.

This is the kind of stuff my brothers and I would do when we were growing up. I guess that's why at 43 years old, I still love to do this kind of thing. It brings back that feeling of wonder, excitement and closeness to the earth. A sense of purity and contentment. Great video!!

My daughter thinks I am crazy because I watch Matthew's videos almost every night. Like everyone else here, I find them relaxing but also educational. As a bonus Matthew has a great personality. I have watched all of his winter camping trips at least 30 times each lol! I put one on when I head to bed, they are very relaxing! Love me some Monty!! He’s just the cutest! And very well behaved. It always amazes me how he sits staring at his food but won’t go at it until he is told to go ahead! Very smart doggie!

This brings back such find memories. I used to ride my horse out into the woods during a snowstorm, just to hear the white noise sound of the snow hitting the ground, and the ka-choo, ka-choo sound of his hooves moving through the snow.. I froze my butt off, but I didn't care, it was so beautiful and peaceful. That was 40 years ago, I live and work in the heart of Los Angeles now, right now I'm home from work today resting in bed after extinguishing a kitchen fire made me sick (smoke & chemicals gave me a headache and made me nauseous) but my heart is still back in the Connecticut woods.

You need a silky saw it would cut sawing time in half! Plus you need a thread organizer or get a piece of smooth wood about 6 inches long and tight it in the middle and then go up and under until you have football.

Loved the adventure with Monty...Love how you interact with him...you're a good dad...gotta go look to see if there are more adventures. I've always wanted to winter camp...I may have to go back north just to do it now..lol

This is one of my favourite videos to watch, the way you are with Monty brings me such consistent joy. Its just wonderful to hear how much you talk to him and see how much you love him! The camping is amazing as well, of course! But I do think this is secretly just a Monty appreciation channel. I watch these videos for hours on the daily . I imagine my self there helping and being there.. I love the way you take care of Monty and ruger make sure they are okay . But dosen't it get tedious to go back record then walk by again and go again back for the camera !! Ahaha I'm happy that you make jokes as you go, and talk and not just clip everything out !!you are an inspiration to make me adventure !!

Really liked seeing you set up your shelter and getting secured,settled in, warmed up and well fed for you and Monty. Love that shelter! Interesting how each one of mine (and probably yours too) come out differently every time with its own personality. I used to think I needed my 4 season tent camp in cold, snowy weather. Like so much better your tarp setup. Good job!

Susan Stoltz I agree! Each one is unique! I do prefer tarps in winter. Tents to me are usually in high winds mixed with rain and bugs. You wont find me tarp camping in bugville.

i love the way you care for Monty. ... you always make sure he's warm and comfortable. You guys make a really good team. I live in Dallas and it's mostly hot as hell here. i was born in Michigan left after 25yrs and i miss the snow and winter sports so watching you takes me back io my ice skating days and good family memories. Have really become addicted to your channel. Even the really longs ones. I have them on while I sit at my craft desk and paint or do clay work. Thanks for sharing all your silly moments, your good camping skills, your recipes and MONTY! I LOVE MONTY! You really take such good care of him. What a perfect dog he is!
