Feels like a fever dream, cheatcodes in GT4, after all those years This game never fails to surprise

uncovering HIddencheats of older games had to be one of my favorite niches in gaming.

Also fun fact: The secret debug menu of GT4, hidden behind a cheat code, that let's you modify the camera also works on Tourist Trophy

These cheats would have changed my life back then. I enjoyed the hard work but some cars were unobtainable

Bought another PS2 and grabbed another copy of GT4 just to do this. Now I can have even more fun with stuff I never bothered to unlock. I can finally get a Formula GT from the 24hr race straight away. lol.

Seeing how they work in TT and that there's no limit at how many times you can use these on GT4, I'm really feeling like all these cheat codes are just debug ones that they never bothered to remove hehehe It's quite neat that people were able to find them so many years later.

The tourist trophy cheats are really useful since the license tests like to not work when emulated. No more having to download save files.

Tourest Trophy is an underrated game in my opinion. A really fun game.

It is also possible to use the license test cheat on multiple tests all at once. You can input the cheat on more than one test in the selection screen, and then enter and exit one of the events used and it will make all the events selected gold. I don't know if it works on race events as this is the only one i have tried so far.

I love that we are still finding hidden gems like this, in a game that has been so heavily observed.

The gold license cheat is hands down the best, no more doing Nords while following that pace car...

I used to have a disc from Action Replay which had the ultimate cheats for Gran Turismo 4 the main ones I used were unlimited credits, disable A.I. and the ultra slow timer to gold the licenses and I got my Dad to print out a sheet which had the code to make all the races one lap which was quite handy especially during the endurance races

24hr races completed in 10 seconds, licences all gold and a car shopping spree that would make Jay Leno blush, these cheats have been a revelation.

Hey Matt, have you researched the elusive Gran Turismo Subaru Driving Simulator Disc (PCPX-96634)? It's the last updated build of GT3 engine, made in May 2003 and possibly contains a lot of tracks/cars previously not in GT3/concept builds. Subaru commissioned it to use in triple screen simulator rigs, yes it's GT3 running on multi monitor! There are modders trying to get access to it, to port all the unseen/new content into GT3. Same with Lupo Cup Ver 1 & 2 builds, if dumped we could see Fuji and Tsukuba in GT3.

Tip: You can exit race start screen with triangle button, no need to scroll down to the right end and confirm the exit 😎

Now, having a set of cheats like this in GT4 really opens up possibilities. For instance, if I were to make a complete car list with all the details needed, it would take 1000's of hours of playtime just to get the cars, and enough money for all the necessary upgrades. Considering the auto-save feature. Unlike GT1, GT2 and GT3, you cannot load to get back your credits after testing one car.

I tested the “gold events” chest with multiples last night, and it’s funny getting several prize cars from a single race. It’s a easy way to “remove” races you don’t want to compete in (like the snow rally events for me)

Finally after 20 years i am able to find all those cheats in GT4.

Guys, I tested these on the PAL version and you don't need to enter an event and exit it to have it completed; just exit and enter GT Mode.

yeah i think im gonna eventually be using the cheats to complete the 24hr races and all-gold the licenses but all the other race events im gonna do legitimately lmao. this is still REALLY fucking cool.

Tourist Trophy was criminally underrated. Closest thing I've played since has been the Ride series.

Does the event win cheat in TT work with the bike specific event to win that bike that have challenges like the 1v1 races?

For gold in the licence tests you don't have to enter every test after performing the cheat. Just highlight the test, type in the cheat, highlight the next ,type in the cheat, and so on. Simply enter the last test, leave it and every test you chose to cheat will have the gold trophy.

more info about the cheats (my apologies, bad english): You *DON'T* have to enter every license tests for single gold license cheat. You can just input the cheat on every tests and enter any random test. After you spawned at the test track, return to the license test page and boom! Gold on every test! For the prize cars, simply return to home screen, wait for the autosave, and enter the license tests again. The prize cars should be waiting for you. If this didn't work, reset the PS2/close the PCSX2 AFTER the autosave finished. This trick works on the races too. You just input the cheat to every race and just enter one of the races then quit the race.

I love Tourist Trophy. I'm curious if any cheats exist for the bike challenges, because, HOT DAMN there's one challenge I've yet to even come close to completing. I'm pretty sure you all know which bloody one...

I found out that if you use the cheat to complete any event, the diary says that you finished it in exactly 0'10.000 no matter what race (this also applies to licence tests)

The thing is you gotta wait one in game year to be able to use the cheats, right? I'd have to wait 365 in game days to get all the gold licenses, right?

A good idea is to play through the game properly first then once you finish, say the Formula Gran Turismo championship or wherever point you decide the "career" is finished, you then use the cheats to just mess around

Good look. Yeah repeating them is fine. You can't convert an already started licence I came across that with my incomplete Special Licence so only individual would work there not the whole unless it is untouched. For cars though yeah that's very powerful after 365 days early. XD Thing is though that auto saving system in GT4 as saving changes can happen when you do a specific thing to forward progress even with autosave off which I found an odd detail so I made sure to avoid that as didn't want the cheats to stay on my save. The race one seemed to work fine I did this with all the 24 hr ones. Interesting for championships or single race huh. Race entry screen yeah but skip upgrades technically. No idea for Tourist Trophy though. I assumed cheats for GT4 may be region limited but I assume US and EU codes may be the same no idea for Japanese, Chinese or Korean versions. I used my physical AU copies of both GT4 and Tourist Trophy so my guess is that the Tourist Trophy games have different cheats. I tried the cheats and no luck. Engine and UI yes but I couldn't get mine to work at least. Credits made sense but I couldn't get the licensed individual one to work I already had the licenses touched so couldn't do the complete all. I tried on my bronze tests and nothing. Or the race event ones. Thing is how many days do you need in Tourist Trophy because the game is so much shorter then GT4 and the day isn't easy to find as GT4 is with it always present? Let alone other GT games always having days listed Tourist Trophy you just have to go in and out a bunch of times maybe? Just count yourself? Or is the day thing not needed and just a free new save works fine I just had certain conditions that couldn't be met or I didn't try on blank races or blank licenses maybe that's why you can't alter existing likely which could be the case.

I have three complications where I can't take advantage of these 1. my optical consoles are all literally seized up. 2. BOTH copies of my GT4 are damaged due to use 3. the 365 in-game days requirement precludes using it on tourist trophy...I can't stop crashing :P now...can you guys check GT3 A-Spec as well?

24 hours endurance is really Polyphony Digital was being a devil to race and complete the race by a day, thanks to cheat and will finish without hassle 😂

I tried the "old ones" on a dedicated saving, it does not unlock you anything but the gold plate. No %, no prize cars. 😮 Maybe I'm missing something?
