Woodturning - Turning this into a Desktop Speaker

Жыл бұрынThis speaker is made from oak, a few pieces I have had for a while now, the main body of the speaker is made from a limb offcut, was hoping to keep some of the bark on but the woodworms have had a field day in this one and there was nothing left between the wood and the bark other than dust.
Finished in Danish Oil, each piece had 5 coats and then a quick buff.
The speakers used are from Dayton Audio and are from their DMA range and are 2", each speaker is matched with a DMA passive radiator. Amplifier is 2 x max 68W at 20V and uses the MA12070 chip, I'm running the amp at 19V which seems to match the speakers well after testing.

The technical aspect coupled with the artistic aspect of your projects are as mesmerising as they are bespoken. The attention to detail and time taken to construct these pieces are second to none. Love this project; the blue resin is gorgeous, along with the color of the oak. The whole project is remarkable. Again, woodworking AND electronics. How absolutely cool.

@@MattJordanWoodturning - I was just looking at it there. I would LOVE to get it for her, and though I have no doubt it is worth every penny based on the effort and time you had to put into creating it... I'm still thinking it over as it may be a bit much for the pocketbook at one time... but I will keep an eye on it, and if it doesn't sell before I stop wavering, I may have to buy it. 🙂

Hi Matt WOW what a great bit of wood its got some lovely grain and markings and I like the resin you used it's a fabulous colour. The speaker is marvellous it'll look great on a desk. You a brilliant craftsman and what ever you turn you always put your time and energy into the item.
