Matt, it is nice that you are doing the research and narrowing down the products for us. I have almost identical requirements as you when it comes to washing, but I have no time or enthusiasm to do the research. Your videos help me a lot so I know what to buy without doing any research myself. Keep up the good work. As an appreciation I will buy a few products on your site for your hard work.

I'm really liking these videos Matt! Especially going into detail about the amount of a product, or the settings you use on a machine is super helpful. That's something that someone (i.e. myself) may have a hard time finding. Hope to see more of these in the future!

Matt, Well done video. I'm with you on the Adam's car wash. I've tried many, and the Adam's product is the better in my opinion. It is funny you mention slickness with the Adam's. I've noted the same thing when I compared it with other products. Keep up the good work, and looking forward to the whole series. Take care!

MATT- Try this 1. Foam Car directly into the dry paint - Let sit for 5 mins or so ( Lets call this the Prewash ) 2. Rinse car down - /you can also mix ONR into the water using it as a Rinse aid- ONR will help lift dirt and providing protection before the contact wash 3. Foam car down again- Leave foam on car 4. Place the shampoo into Mitt and start your contact wash- I feel this would lift more dirt and reduce the chance of fine lines in the paint

Great video! I can't wait for the new MFM pads to come out. That's probably the only reason why I haven't order your package yet :) At this point in time Adam's shampoo really works for me and how I wash my car. I did some research on the difference between the old red shampoo and the new blue. From what I've read, the older red style had better emulsifiers than the blue. However, the blue has a much higher lubricity factor. So what I've been experimenting with is is foaming with the red and using the blue in the bucket. The two soaps play well together and I've had pretty good results so far. The goal is to have a little better clean from the foam in the winter without stripping the wax totally.

the advantage of being able to wash a car in bright sunlight and not have to rush to rinse and dry panels beacause of the water spotting issue is the main reason i use Adams car shampoo ,even though its a more expensive product if i can enjoy and take my time and do a better job of the wash process more then thats well worth it for me. Great video as ever, keep them coming.

Tip for filling up the MTM bottle with shampoo: I was having the problem of having the Adams shampoo sit at the bottom as I filled it in the bucket. What has helped is filling the bottle with some amount of water FIRST. Then when you put in the shampoo (awesome that the bottle has measurements at the side and therefore you can still know how much additional shampoo you're adding) it doesn't "stick" to the bottom and mixes a lot more freely when you add more water and mix. That being said, Matt I absolutely love the information you present. You make this world a better place.

I recommend trying out their Hyper Wash shampoo if you're going for cost efficiency. A quick comparison: Hyper Wash - $30/gallon. Dilution ratio = 1oz/5 gallons Gold Class - $12 for 64oz = $24/gallon. Dilution ratio = 1oz/gallon. True cost when considering dilution ratio = $120/gallon ($24x5) $30/gallon vs $120/gallon

Two reasons for the soup solution to make less foam after remaining in the foam cannon:. 1). The specific gravity of the raw soap is greater than h2o. Therefore creating emulsion. Once emulsified, the solution has characterized to a lighter specific gravity. 2) Not knowing the chemical make-up of Adams soup, I'm guessing it contains propyleen glycol or a similar cutting agent. Adding h2o to glycol (without heat), causes the cutting agent to sheet. FYI... the only way to create a bubble is the introduction of oxygen (our breathable atmosphere, for example).

Does it matter if the water in the foam cannon is warm/hot versus cold. I usually use warm/hot water, just wanted to know what you think.
@ObsessedGarage

I believe the instructions that come with the foam cannon states to use warm water. I have not done an A/B controlled test to see if warm water creates more foam. I have used the FC both ways with Adams Car Shampoo with good results. I also use McGuire's Gold Class. Both are good, but I think the Adams may have slightly more lubricity--just my subjective opinion without a scientific test.

Adams makes good products, just grossly overpriced compared to other good companies. We use All American Car Care Pink Soap, almost the same as Adams. $100.00 for 5 gallons on Amazon. My staff loves it.

Obsessed Garage We do about 50 cars per week, if I was to add 7oz of the Adam's car soap in my foam cannon I'd be going through a lot of the high priced soap. Now to take care of your own cars then yes Adam's would work very well for you. They have very good products.

I just dont understand the "ph neutral" term. Wouldn't that be water?
@airsnipe4
@airsnipe4 7 жыл бұрын
pH level is a scale of how basic or acidic an object is. 7 is neutral. Less than that acidic, more than that, basic. Water is neutral in its purest form. However, Depending on the area your water will have a slightly acidic pH. Every soap on the market has a pH level. Too far in either direction will break down your wax and or paint in extreme cases.

@isaiahmartinez5620 5 жыл бұрын
Most tap water is not ph balanced. A balanced pH would be 7.0 acidic would be 7.0 and lower and basic would be 7.0 and up. pH balanced soap doesnt strip wax or any protective coating you would have.

95% of my detailing supplies is Adam's, the 5% that isn't is because I don't think their shampoo is good at all. Never seem to get enough suds, and doesn't seem as slick. I've found that Chemical Guys shampoo far surpasses it in my opinion.
