Brother, Im a first responder (LEO) and dark humor is the only thing that kept us sane. No malice, no hatred, but the humor helped accept and process wtf just happened infront of us. Things that humans arent supposed to see and experience. Fellow brother put it this way. We are always responding to people's worst days. Potentially the wrost moments of their lives, we are responding and by your side. Be safe

I was held as a s3x sl@ve from 14 to 19 by an older man who pretended he was going to be my bf when I ran away from home. I have burns, scars, and disfigurements from his abuse. I’m approaching my 20 year anniversary of my escape and the ONLY thing that has got me here is the darkest humor. I’ve always said, “if I couldn’t laugh at my life, I would’ve snuffed it a long time ago.” I learned I can change very little in the world, but I can change my attitude by laughing every chance I get. Keep laughing, keep being dark… and if you’re like me, you have found someone whose demons play well with your own. _I will not have you without the darkness that hides within you_ _I will not let you have me without the madness that makes me_ _If our demons cannot dance, neither can we_ *-Nikita Gill*

So, I had the chance to meet this young man. Saw him in London Ontario. He roasted me a bit, as expected 😊. I am a paraplegic and use a wheelchair everyday. Matt has a unique way of making a point, he is so quick witted its amazing. He includes everyone, and makes you feel welcomed. He asked me if i had a question for him, so I asked for a selfie with him. This man jumped off the stage to take a picture with me, but first told me my question was "Lame" lol. Anyone who hasnt gone to see him live, do it! You are missing out if you dont. Now im trying to get tickets to his Niagara Fallsview show...just gotta try and get handi-seats. Cheers Matt from southern Ontario 🇨🇦

Matt, my wife has MS and been in an electric wheelchair for the past 4 years. It has been an incredibly difficult adjustment for her and she still struggles with the loss at times. We just watched this special and she laughed more than I've heard in some time! Thank you so much for doing what you do, the way you do. I cried seeing her laugh that much and that purely. Please don't ever change.....don't let 'them' change you. I can only guess at what a great man your grandpa was - but I know he would be so proud of the smiles and laughter you are giving people...especially in this day and age when a lot of folks need something to be happy about.

Thank you for such a wonderful special Matthew Steven Rife. I know the loss of a grand"PARENT", I laughingly call myself a hand-me-down. Starting at about 2yrs old I was raised by my Great Grandfather, once he passed my grandparents took over until high school when I spent my last remaining pre-adult years with my mother. After having listened (mostly blind here) to numerous videos for yours, I can say we probably have quite a bit in common with regard to life, but I digress. Thank you for sharing you loss and celebrating Steve's life and for choosing to through "PC" to the wind to bring laughter into an otherwise cold condemning and sometimes selfish world. You are a breath of fresh air and an inspiration.

@@carmenkarvopot7297 I'm well aware of this and I know what he was trying to say. My point is, don't act like you've released it independently, on your own website or something like Louis C.k, when you haven't. KZfaq is not really a social media platform, it's kind of a hybrid considering they pay people for content just like netflix, hulu, etc. just in a different way. Also, youtube can and will block and ban whoever they want, whenever they want. This fact alone means anything released on youtube is not released independently, it is released in partnership with youtube.

You can look at numbers, Netflix has been drowning and pulled a stop out to save themself, not sure if it’ll last but it’s working for now. The comedy market is wide open and would get a lot of viewers if a streaming service had the balls to actually allow comedians to speak. That being said seeso was a streaming service for comedy specials and it collapsed, perhaps not a good standalone idea but I can’t help but think they add a huge new catalog to already good streaming services

I have had a full length conversation about hydraulic wheelchair lifts with a disabled gentleman I know, and he said he was getting onto a bus and it took almost a full minute to move the ramp either way, while on it he watched a trash truck yeeting trash into it and thought to himself "why can't they just do something like that, thats way faster"😂

How can you go from laughing your ass off to crying your eyes out so quickly? Matt Rife.. your grandfather was obviously an impressive man and you are making him proud still to this day. ❤️

Man, I was 11 months late to this magnificent event. This is funny and therapeutic at the same time. Kudos, Mike!

Matt had a choice to make about whether or not to do this performance at all, and he seized it as an opportunity to do a great job, memorialize his grandpa, and speak to his pain. That is the best of what "The show must go on" can mean. He was willing and able to push ahead, and now he knows he can do that. I hope Matt feels pride in a job well done, despite everything and because of everything.
