Actually, Arlecchino killed that guy not only for money, but because her child, that girl who died, was on a mission. I assume she had to investigate the case about Tartuffe. He was doing "charity" and "philanthropy", but in reality it was a scheme to reap of profits. The kids girl saw were the same children that were tortured by Tartuffe, because he only needed money. And the girl obviously was beaten by his people, cause she found out the truth behind all of this. So, Arlecchino's actions are not meaningless. But of course you can't say that killing people is good too. And that makes her a perfect morally gray character. She has her own principles, and that explains her doings.
