@@KEEPlT1K Full Tilt were giving their players money that online players/customers were depositing into their player's accounts. In other words, millions of dollars was being used to finance tournament buyins and cash games, when the money should have remained in Full Tilts bank account in case players/customers withdrew their money. In 2008/2009, that's exactly what happened. The US government banned online poker. When players tried to withdraw their money, most of it was gone. Howard Lederer and Phil Ivey and Tom Dwan and Chris Ferguson and Annie Duke were caught in a Ponzi scheme; they essentially funneled millions of dollars out of FT that should never have been touched. That's the money you see in play on these cash games, and on all episodes of poker from 2006-2009.

@@Burneraccountwisdom Matusow was a really talented player in his era. You don't see it on display here or in most televised cash games from this circa, but you have to know his personal situation to understand why. There is a good bit of tournament footage that show Mike in a better light, but by the time these big cash games were being televised Mike had already gone broke and to prison, and he was being backed by other players to even be able to play. Mike has said himself many times that having to be bankrolled into these games and literally only having one bullet to fire is what turned him into a total nit.
