Phil is angry that he lost and that's it. It has nothing to do with fairness or reason. Matusow played that hand PERFECTLY. There was no grounds for Helmuth to criticize him in any way. And he was saying, "I've got a bad feeling about this one." 9:41 *Doubtful Hellmuth* - With 4 people in and Hellmuth betting on the flop, good chance he at least paired, because anyone remaining likely paired or had a high pair or is on a flush or straight draw. Ivy just calling rather than raising back hints he doesn't have trips or a higher pair or straight yet. Hellmuth checked on the turn because Hellmuth lives and dies by the slow play, when he should have raised to sniff out Ivy's hand - if Ivy calls he's probably on a draw, if he raises back he probably hit. If 7 8 or Q hadn't come on the turn after Hellmuth checked, Ivy would have taken the free river card with 10 outs to trips or a straight.

The problem with Phil Helmuth is he frequently gives away too much information as to the strength of his hand on the turn. Why would you labour over a call on the turn? Then make a clearly crying call, because you have another street of betting. He has done this sort of thing many times, he gives away his hand. You should only ever do this when it's on the river and the call is final and closing the hand. That said, Helmuth is often touted because his tantrums are funny to watch, however, he is a great player, and always loses with grace in the end.
