Matvei Michkov is in competition with Connor Bedard for the first overall pick in the 2023 NHL Draft. He led Team Russia with 3 goals in 2 WJC preliminary games, including another 2 goals in a pre-tournament game against Canada. Thanks for watching! I hope you enjoy!

With all the first rounders that played in that wjc tournament, Michkov stood out to me the most, wayyy more than Power, Kent Johnson, Marty Beiners, etc.

So many great little plays that go unnoticed unless there focused upon, this was all at 16 years old in 4 games. If he got to play at the these past 2 wjc’s even with his contract i feel he would be considered a lot closer to bedard then he is now.
