Moulana Maudoodi decided to relocate Darul Islam from Pathankot, Gurdaspur district, India to Lahore just a few days after the establishment of Jamaat-e-Islami. He had moved Darul Islam Pathankot on the advice of Allama Iqbal so that he could start an organized struggle for the establishment of the Islamic system by making it a center.
