Damn good idea using the Lucas Gilbertson redub. His delivery of the "what am I fighting for" line is chilling. As opposed to the laughably bad original.

Ok, I was wondering about that. Cause I remember people making fun of this scene & I was like this Zero is doing a pretty good job, you can definitely feel those emotions in his voice.

That scene was powerful enough back in the day, no matter what the voice acting was. When Lucas Gilbertson redid it with his friend... and now it's in a song... Repeat ∞

It’s kinda like when Brundlepod says “help me” while pointing a gun to his head in the 1986 remake of “The Fly”- same dialogue, but heart-wrenchingly different tone.

Nicely done. I know the girl was quiet but she sounded sad and sincere. She really loved Zero and he loved her. It was just all of Sigma's sick plan to make the reploids fight amongst one another that they got wrapped up in it. Thanks for that and the remix.

aaaactually- not really. System failure is what killed her. She installed her brother's chip despite the fact that scientists were never able to merge the two programs together. (the reason they even are brother and sister in the first place) ALSO- funfact: you dont need to ever attack Iris' body at all in the fight. If you take her beating and Zero's health hits critical, she will eject the crystal herself!

I found the scream the most genuine part of the beginning. That scream totally fit the situation, dude lost his girl...forever. Other than that I didn't really Zero's voice.

To be fair this was dubbed in a moment where NA's dubbing scene from anime/japanese games was still on it's infancy. The good dubs in the 90's were the exception, not the rule. But yeah IMO if MMX entire saga is remade, Lucas Gilberston should be doing the role, he has the fair balance between serious/angery/smug that Zero character in MMX's timeline represents.

Dubbing at the time was digging thru lot of trash for the 90s and early 2000s. I'm just glad the redub for that scene exist in both in this song and JYB for tempen

i think if they toned down the scream just a tad then yea it would be the most epic for me but the scream and his words during the scream was too much it made me laugh at what if (after that part) an epic and dramatic song that sets a battle mood

i hope zeros screaming that sounded so fake it almost ruined my like of zero didnt seem not dramatic enough cause the song itself was good the intro was overly dramatic if they toned down zeros reaction just a tad it would have been perfect the words for the intro fit but acting out zero's screams at the end of it just made me wanna laugh not fill me with emotion like a poorly translated japanese game does (heres a hint on the game all your base are belong to us)
