Excellent choice of song for this scene. "Won't Get Fooled Again" is perfect, because from the start, Maverick was fooling them, a) popping up out of nowhere under their radar, b) tricking them into the 200 push-ups deal (he wasn't complaining about 200 push-ups being a lot, he was _warning_ them), because C) he knew, as an old man in a game where young men die, they'd forgotten the old saying "youth and exuberance are no match for old age and treachery".

My god, I loved this movie and I love this franchise. If it's ever becoming a trilogy in the near future, I hope that the third film will be as good as the first two films.

This was had a similar production to Fury Road. It was an old master bringing out all of the old tricks and making a masterpiece. They kept the CGI to a minimum and did everything in camera. It's not easy and takes a lot of time but it's hard to deny the results.

Star Wars shoulda gotten the Maverick treatment - old veteran absolutely steamrolls the cocky youngsters and prove why he is the best. The young need to learn from the old, especially the arrogant types.

This scene is showing the reality of life, long forgotten by young adults these days. No matter how special or good you think you are, you need time and experience to become real good on something.

I thought this movie was rubbish to be honest. The original is a legend, this sequel was a let down and completely overdone. should've never made it.
