There’s actually an interesting backstory behind this bout. You see, in order to keep his Red Bull sponsorship, Heinzer contractually has to drink a full shipping crate of Red Bull each year. The morning of this bout, his liaison at the company called to remind him that the deadline was that night at midnight, and he hadn’t started on the year’s supply yet

Nice to see Heinzer has started practicing Sabre so he can do all 3 weapons in Paris

Oh man, Heinzer fences a bit like me. Can't believe this is actually a valid successful fencing style. Chaotic and unconventional. Almost like he is experimenting. Big movements , silly maneuvers. This gives me so much hope. Made my day.

Heinzer makes Paolo Milanoli look like Arndt Schmitt.

Heinzer really had "fun" in these bouts. Its obvious he used the whole piste to dictate the rythm of his bouts and played everything to his advantage.

If sabre allowed you to cross step, Heinzer would be the best sabre fencer

I actually have been struggling with this. Whenever someone rushes me, I fall back, but the piste is of finite length and I can't keep falling back. And whenever this happens, I don't do well. In best case scenario, it's a double. Any advice on how should I handle the rush?

Don't follow ur opponent's tempo.

If you watch Romain Cannone really carefully in this video, maybe in slow motion to better see how he does it, you get a good potential solution: you DO want to create space between yourself and your opponent, but they’re going to continue to rush until they see the opening to attack. So what can you do?-give them a false opening and make them start their attack too soon. Cannone does body feints here to make it look like he’s attacking and trigger his opponent into launching the “final” attack, but he then hops back to make more distance, causing his opponent to fall short, and giving himself time and space to counter. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/p5qAp8x-ranThnk.htmlsi=D-pJXcDzMiJPKCKr

Technicaly you should try to impose your own tempo, by using second thought or a very well timed bind and attack. Practicaly you could faint a light injury to get some time to gather your wits (i have never done this but it has been done to me to great success)

Options for me are, call them out before they start, anti cheese. If someone is rushing you they usually have a default action in mind. You have to take your shot at some point but you have to make up your mind before it's too late. Not easy but once you put doubt in their mind their rush becomes predictable.

I love Heinzer... Do you think he'll get his ranking back to top 15 this season? And do you think Park (SangYoung) is better overall?
@GPFencing9 ай бұрын
PARK relative to max it's a shorter carreer. But Max never won or meddaled Olympics. Both some of the goats but Park is "better" in my opinion. I know max has the skill to get top 16 back but it's not gonna be easy, he will stay in top 30 easily though

The red card for gard to mask is a stupid rule, there is no room for analysing intent, even if the opponent runs head first into the guard, its red card. It really needs a revision, yes red card if obviously intentional, but no room for analysis is just stupid.
