Here is every display of powers and weakness from Max Lord. Including granting wishes.

@@yogalayang8096 - Plenty of ways for these wishes to go wrong... like the black dude, who said in the subtitles "I wish to be king", didn't actually say that. He's speaking French, and he says "Je veux vivre comme un roi" that should have been translated by something closer to "I want to live like a king". "Vivre comme un roi" is a common French expression that means to have a lavish, expensive lifestyle, not necesseraly to be an actual king. The focus is on the lifestyle, not the title itself. It could be worthless or dangerous if granted in certain ways...

The power to grant yourself and others wishes is both a gift and a curse. Maxwell Lord is literally the physical embodiment of "I've won, but at what cost?".

Everything comes at a cost. Magic in the DC universe always comes at a cost. And I heard fan say "if a person asks for a dying loved one or sick and the person would trade anything (including his life) and Max trade for something small would that be fair?" Magic is never fair, and something as small isn't worth a soul to save and if it was what would happen if it gets bigger and escalates out of control? It's not the small wish and trade that's dangerous, it's the escalation of how can this be dangerous. Also yes the Star wars program is a defense missile program, not a broadcast system. but its magic hes making the rules. The only way to do it is by not only saying the truth but embracing it. Do you know how hard people have to live with something that hard because Diana said "You're not the only one that suffered?" Shes rights there are 7 billion people in the planet who had some form of suffering and wish they can pull a Flashpoint and wish everything back. This is why Wonder Woman was created to comfort you when you need to embrace the freaking truth because it's so hard in real life in a society that is trying its best to ignore the truth

Yes, because he becomes the Dream Stone itself. So he cannot then ACTUALLY wish for stuff himself, only grant wishes, thus he manipulates others to wish for the things he wishes, and, thus... they unknowingly do his bidding, like when he acted in such a way in that an aide wished that he, Max, had an audience with President Ronald Reagan. Thankfully, at the end, he renounced his wish of absolute power, and realizes that he was on the verge of losing what mattered most to him: his son Alistair. He saves the boy. Unlike his father (who beat his mother, and, by implication, him as well), he was a loving dad. Max wasn’t a truly bad guy. He was misguided. He redeemed himself in the end.

@@JWBabaYaga Well, not just "wish for the things he wishes" - like the Dreamstone itself, which cost him his health to make wishes, he can make his OWN wish from anyone who uses him to make theirs. You see this in how he takes over the president's power, the CEO, the security team.. so on and so forth. It's an exchange, not a gift. His son was the only person who made a wish that he did not want to grant - because all Alistair wanted was not money, or power, but for his father to be a good man, to be with him. This was something he later realizes - the ONE person in the world he truly wished for was always there, and that one person had a wish he could grant without the need for the Dreamstone's power.

For example, he knows to take not just the evangelical's audience but also the timeslot, and he doesn't just wish that there was no traffic but also that it "parted like the Great Red Sea" so absolutely nothing will get in his way, traffic-related or not.

It looks like he had second thoughts when Allistair wished for his greatness probably because he didn't want to take anything from him. Which technically he did because all Allistair wanted was for his father's happiness and to be with him. Whether Max was consciously aware of it or not his addiction to power drew him further and further away from Allister to the point where his actions almost killed the boy. (Somewhere, Dolos the Duke of Deception was definitely cackling and rubbing his hands with fiendish glee with that one. "Pathetic mortal, don't you know the price of that power is to remain forever alone?")
