he did write the song for them tho. that's how it works. it's not anyone invalidating the work from anyone else. but bts literally asked him to write a song for them and he did. then they obviously went in and made it their version of perfect. but the original song was written by max for bts. it's a pretty simple concept and is done for many artists.

He co-wrote it. The song as you hear it, was a collaborative effort of several people, including 3 members of BTS, one of their main producers, and at least 3 other people, including Max.

They're really (continuously) talking like he wrote it the whole song as it is now, singlehandedly (and so are a lot of people in the comments who seemed to have glossed over him saying it was a collaborative effort - I wonder what that's all about... even though he does keep reminding them, so good on Max for that), when most of BTS's music is a highly collaborative effort - and apparently, so is Max's, which I didn't know before (you can see that if you look at the credits of any BTS song). The rappers likely wrote their own lyrics as usual, and other writers (RM) probably added to Max's melody and lyrical outline with Korean lyrics that match the concept and make sense for the song and rhyme and fit to the main melody. I think the way the song ended, was BTS's team too (just my theory) or SUGA himself, because it reminds me a lot of Telepathy, and SUGA's sort of ethereal synth style in some of his other songs.

@@X3000Chan they're not. it's just that the focus is on max here. when they say that he wrote it they're referring to how bts asked him to write a song and his is the original draft and the whole reason the song exists. no one is overlooking bts or anyone else.

BTS weren't gone for 2 years when Yet to Come came out. Maybe you meant they hadn't promoted on Korean music shows in 2 years.
