"Wir sind stolz auf Sie und ich gebe mich der zuversichtlichen Hoffnung hin, dass die Folgen Ihrer großen Entdeckung künftig nur friedlichen Zwecken zugute kommen werden."
Otto Hahn:
"Haben Sie vielen herzlichen Dank Herr Geheimrat für Ihre so liebenswürdigen Worte. Auch ich bin der Meinung, dass man die durch die Uranspaltung in den Bereich des Möglichen gebrachte Ausnutzung der Atomenergie wirklich nur humanitären Zwecken zugänglich machen sollte. Und das wollen wir doch alle hoffen. Und derselben Meinung sind - davon habe ich mich in Schweden, wo ich ja gerade herkomme, überzeugt- auch die Gelehrten, praktisch der ganzen Welt."

Otto Hahn: "Thank you very much, Privy Councilor, for your kind words. I too am of the opinion that the use of atomic energy, brought into the realm of the possible by the fission of uranium, should really only be made available for humanitarian purposes. And let us all hope so and that the same opinion - I was convinced of this in Sweden, where I come from right now - is shared by scholars, practically all over the world. "

P. S. Otto Hahn bekam den Nobelpreis (für Chemie) 1944.

Rightfully Lise Meitner should have received half of the Nobel prize awarded to Hahn.
