I remember some people complaining that all the defensive options in the game were quite expensive to use, or had some clear punishes. Now with braum it all makes sense... if the defensive options in the game are expensive, defensive/supportive characters gain a lot of value because they are your way to get some good and free defensive options. Its how 2XKO intends to allow support characters from league to be viable in 2XKO. And im all in for it.

With the team tag aspect, and the fact that League has specialized champs (even if you can use many of them in more than one role), it makes sense for them to adapt the concept... shows to a level of care to the core of said champs.

@@Alacaelum Like the gameplay intended for braum is a direct reference to his core gameplay in league. The fact that he needs to be the point character (be in front of his carry), then tag out to let the carry hit and once he is in danger he tags in with his shield up is quite simillar to him jumping on his carry with his W to put the shield in front of him. Braum is a wonderful design in respect to how they captured his gameplay perfectly

I just hope the lack of point character defensive options doesn’t make defensive assists super meta. For example, DBFZ season 1 was super offensive, so beam assists for ranged stage control and yamcha assist for combo extension was insanely meta. But it’s the Cannon brothers so I have full faith they know better than me.

The lore with Braum's shield is so funny. He found someone trapped in a vault by a door that couldn't be broken by anything, not even Braum. What did he do? He punched into the mountain around the door and forced it open from the inside, taking the indestructible item as a shield from then on.

He seems great for all skill levels. His walk speed is insanely slow though (as expected) I feel like he can keep an ekko alive amazingly

I think he'd work great w ekko and yasuo for combo setups, darius for heavy follow ups, and illaoi cause she wants to jump him. Also setup her tentacles.

The difference is Mortdog and the twins/others on 2XKO are actually good at what they do. League designers and balance team are clueless, making character anyone with a brain would know is a problem or making wild swings in balance choices to make characters in the extremes either beyond strong or basically deactivated with how useless they are. That's why Pro play you see 15 or so champs an entire tournament in a game of over 160 champs.

@@ClearComplexity although im inclined to agree that the state of pro play is boring in league RN I think most of the reason is the teams unwillingness to challenge the status quo I think G2 is proof that alot of champs can be viable in pro play but aren't played just because the teams would rather draft safe lanes at least in LCK and LPL I dont watch LCS all that much TBH and the LEC has G2 so they are exempt.

@@ClearComplexity2XKO doesn‘t even have a huge roster. LoL has a huge amount of balancing concepts to do, when Top was heavily focused on tanks, Fiora rises in the WR% and pick rate, the sheer amount of champions and roles you need to balance is stupidly impossible, DOTA 2 has these metas as well, kinda what makes MOBAs so special, every month a new meta or mechanic arrives to the game that completely breaks the game. The recent champions weren’t even strong enough to even be considered competitive even briar struggled in Master+ while everyone in the lower ranked call them busted. Also the pro play tier list is way more different than the one we have in SoloQ, Pro Players are playing the game in tournaments not like they would play in SoloQ.

Even the regular skins would go hard on 2XKO as it is more apparent than the top-down cam of League. Dragonslayer Braum might be one of his cheapest skins but that would be instabuy for me here.

man braum and illaoi are my favourite characters from that franchise tho i dont play league or any a their games. these two tho might make me pick up the game tbh. tho im not a fighting game player personally im also kinda curious about the models if they're 3d but specifically shaded to give that vibe kinda like guilty gear and fighters z cuz the designs and animations are gorgeous and not to in your face flashy either

Yeah, but it is best if you can universally know why something is happening rather than having to know specifically Braum gets this effect. In theory it'll get a lot of characters down the line and he won't be the only one with armour.

I bet Max is still waiting for Dragonblade Talon to be in 2XKO. I know he is waiting for his main to be revealed whenever Riot Games releases a new character trailer sometime in the future. I don't want him to be in a character crisis like in MK1.

You remember a few months ago when they announced the name and everyone was like "dumb name, I'm never gonna stop calling it Project L". That was funny. And here we are, the game hasn't even launched yet and no one calls it project l anymore. The thing about names is, they don't matter at all. It's what we associate with the name that matters. People had associated their excitement of the game with the name Project L, and this new name 2XKO was not associated with anything. So they latched on to whatever they could, it's hard to say, it doesn't make sense, it's dumb, whatever. But now that the devs have been using it for a while, the positive associations are sinking in. When you say 2XKO, I now think of this cool upcoming game, and that makes the name better. Because the name itself literally doesn't matter. Humans have all sorts of languages, there are not really words that are hard coded in our DNA to be unpleasant, certainly not something as innocuous as 2XKO. If you don't believe me, wait until it comes out. Most people at that point will have never even heard Project L and I doubt anyone will care about the name if the game is good.

So far they are all League characters, I think it's likely they'll stick to that as there's well over 100 characters they could choose that people already like rather than making new ones that people might not.
