The opening library made me want some kind of super collection of resident evil where the room is full of painting of each game made since re7, and the painting you pick takes you to that game.

RE4 is literally the blueprint for every third person game that came after it. It is fact that it is one of the best games of all time.

In the original RE4, Leon parried Krauser's knife during a cutscene so it makes sense he can also parry other enemies. I can already imagine a knife only challenge will be so much more fun with the parry mechanic.

You're absolutely correct. That will be fun to play around with. I wish that the button prompts weren't there and it was a different kind of indication like a more subtle sound/visual cue.

Do keep in mind the knife has a durability. You can see it in the merchant segment that reparing your knife is one of the options, as is upgrading the durability.

You need to kneecap a ganado to suplex, and the trailer has no instance of kneecapping, so they are probably gonna let people discover that on their own :)

@@SuntoryKick yea Leon does a different kick on villagers specifically when you kneecap them. He suplexes every other type of ganado.

@@SuntoryKick If you kneecapped the ganados in the opening village you could only do a spinning back kick on the downed enemies. Yea the ones in the castle get a suplex.

I'm not a fan of first person games in general. I just like to see my character....I like to see their animations and how they interact with the environment. 3rd person games just feel better to me.

I love the changes to RE4, elements of the prototype, Luis looks great and Ashley does not sound annoying. Ada is STONE COLD and we actually see Ashley be affected by the Plagas more so then the original version

You have to buy the aiming laser, you can see the Merchant has one on sell.

@@banjo-kazooie To me the surprise change is we can upgrade the knife (and that it now takes up space). I wonder if we can buy better knives later on or find better ones. Maybe after our first fight with Krauser we get one of his spares.

@@livingcorpse5664 That would be pretty sweet compared to always the same model knife in previous RE games except for special unlockables like the Hotdogger, why not have "Knife BUT ON FIRE" be an unlockable perk instead that deals increased damage as well as continued damage like being burn afflicted in Pokemon.

The presence of the Sentinel Nine as a Deluxe item for the game and Hirabayashi mention C.A.R. stance in a recent interview on shueisha hints that leon might be more tactical with his knife and gunplay which is a detail i really like , way too hyped for the game

There needs to be escort stages with Ashley man. I know the whole meme with Ashley and stuff but the escort stages were literally where we are tested to use all the mechanics that the game has. Removing it just because some loud bad players is like Fromsoft giving easy difficulty to Elden Ring because of bad players screaming the game is too hard.

I just recently played RE 4 for the first time (it was incredible) but yea I was cringing when I knew I was coming up on the escort missions with Ashley. I've heard how nerve wracking they were but when I finally played them, it was pretty damn easy honestly. I guess a lifetime of playing other more difficult games mentally prepared me

I hope they release a complete version with 3rd person, all dlc, expansion in physical copy and everything on the disk. Since Capcom is gracious enough to add a 3rd person view (which I prefer), I want to have this game in my collection.

I think the FPS view of RE7 helps the atmosphere and the claustrophobic gameplay much more than a TPS view. In village's case, the gameplay is much more open so it works better.

The village sequence, the first five to ten minutes, is the only horror part in the entire game.

@@pious83 it depends on a person then. Wasn't able to get used to the atmosphere and enemies popping up in the original for 70% of the game... Still can be scared shitless by atmosphere of the game itself, til the very end...

The early 2000's was all about the action game, after all. Capcom, emboldened by the success of 4, doubled down on that action. Ultimately RE6 was the result...

@@pious83 well idk about re6 didn't played it. Still can say that RE4 was scary, RE5 wasn't at all... At there's now whole genre of survival horrors that borrowed ideas from re4 mostly... Albeit not many are good enough, let alone remotely scary at what they do
