I honestly believe what happens is Max moves on with her life, regardless of if we sacrificed chloe or arcadia Bay and tries to go to this new university and forget the events of the first game. But her rewinding power has gone dormant, and had involved. I notice both the first game and this game have 1 thing in common: Max discovers her powers or at the very least has them triggered when a close friend to her gets shot. Both chloe and Safi got shot. I also seen the owl which is theorised to be Jefferson's spirit animal. I think what could happen is Jefferson is watching Max through the eyes of the owl and he might somehow have hidden powers of some sort. Idk it's all theories but I think Max will remember the dark room or go into an alternate reality which brings the dark room back and has rachel amber alive within that timeline. I truly believe that. I saw Katy bentz livestream last week which was featuring Kylie brown ( actress of rachel amber) and rhianna devries, before the storm Chloe's actor and early on she kindly asked we don't ask about them returning to the new game because it could be career destroying or something along those lines. That just made me strongly believe they've been signed to a nda, most likely featuring in double exposure and cannot talk about it.

I think we are gonna be exploring so much of Max's trauma like the dark room! I am ready! I wanna see Max process her trauma and the ptsd sob it's gonna hurt but I wanna see it!! It's so dark, but I always imagine how, even if Dontnod didn't like - the article you find on the plane to San Francisco says there was no SA for any of the victims, but still. In that position we see Max in, drugged, Jefferson posing her.. omg the fear would be there for her of what else he might do. The ptsd from all that has to be so bad. And Max never got to process any of it in the first game. She never got to process anything she went through. So I'm ready to see them really dive into that bc it sounds like she's been trying to run from it for so long. Also a theory I have I've been sharing around - so they said they are respecting both endings, and both endings will connect. Here's my theory... So Max we know will enter an alternate timeline as she's trying to solve Safi's murder. What if that alternate timeline is a version of the world where she made the OTHER choice? So Max who sacrificed Chloe shifts into the reality where she's alive And Max who sacrificed Arcadia Bay shifts into the reality where Chloe is dead This would make Max and us the player have to confront our past in a really hard way, where we enter a world that belongs to another Max who made a different choice. This world isn't ours, so we can't stay forever, but we are forced to face our choice, and question if we made the right choice. Like imagine Max who let Chloe die shifting realities, going to her home, and finding an alive Chloe in her home. And being faced with the fact this is another Max's life, which she can't have, bc she has to live with her choice. Omg the emotions! Or the Max who saved Chloe seeing how lonely the version of her who let Chloe die is - but discovering how many people are still alive because the storm never came. Would be really cool to see them do this.

Here's my thought. There are alternate timeliness. Which let's be real they are pretty much parallel worlds. There are doubles of multiple people. Doppelgangers. So who agrees with me that the killer with this new red room info is Jefferson again but it's his Doppelganger. Except this Jefferson has found a way to use Max's powers to cross the boundary and come to this world as well. My initial thought was that the killer was Safi since max saw her on the phone after the gunshot and then found her dead. Which means there are two safis in the same place and we see that Safi walk behind the trash can and max immediately pass it but no safi

Here is my new theory. Mark Jefferson is the good guy, he's a hero. He likely got hired by the Prescotts to kill the time traveler who will destroy Arcadia Bay. A hint can be found in a deleted audio recording where Nathan screams: "listen to me, i'm not crazy, the storm will come", hinting that Nathan had time travel powers. Life is Strange 4 comes out in October, and is a sequel where Max and Chloe live on after they destroyed Arcadia Bay.
