Controversial take: the first 10k games don't matter. Theres so many tech trees now you'll be grinding stock tanks for at least 10k games, training crews, figuring out your playstyles and what tanks you like. Don't worry about your WN8/Win rate until you're playing high tiers maxed out.

you should just not care about WN8. It can be interesting info and make you reflect your skill. You know "limit testing"? It is trying something that might be dumb just for the experience. It helps improving your skill but hurts your win rate.

Btw Max, Daki is a friend of mine. 2 weeks ago he played 1 game on my PC and did 6000 dmg in a 60tp on a setup he doesn’t even use. I was watching over his shoulder and still could not grasp how he does it… STANDING NEXT TO HIM! It’s utter insanity lol.

Something imo important not mentioned in video, dont "just play", you have to tryhard, pick a tank and play your best possible game. Ofc you dont have to do it all the time, because its tiring and you will burn out, but you need to have those session where you are going for maximum result. Good way is to pick a tank or tanks and try to mark it, if you cant get 3 marks go for 2 marks. Got tired, take a break and mess around in some other tanks.

First off, thanks for the upload and your honest thoughts. Don't get me wrong much of you said is common sense. Meaning good info. With that said: How to get better is by far more the just "play max tier, get best equipment, spam full gold, gg". I was honestly hoping for more in depth info. Like show examples ingame, locations, good spots and where to be if your team is losing etc. Things like that. Because of the endless 5-15 /15-5 simulator as skill4itu put it, it won't matter if you're super unicum if your team is bad. Being rushed by 4-6 tanks, you will die. How to counter that? You get my point. Also, many likes to play tier 6-8 tanks as well for different reasons. Minimap awareness is very important!

Very good and informative video! Very honest approach towards stuff like premium time and premium rounds and consumables many people can and should learn from. Those obviously wont boost your stats by themselves but they are a great foundation to start off of in order to step up ones game while improving ones own gameplay by gaining experience through playing and watching others.

Max, once again, a really helpful video from you. I definitely can take Mark most of those items as things I am trying to do. I definitely focus on damages matter of fact my goal every single game is to at least do my hit points. The positioning is the big tough part for me, but I’m slowly but surely getting better at that. Can't recommend HP boost more, the amount of games that I have won only because of this item is crazy, my tracks repair super fast, if I even get tracked because the track health is boosted, ended so many games where I'm only alive because of the extra HP. Also a big fan of Daki, his brain is on another level for this game. When he is a Field Commander and is making decisions on where to send tanks, mid game, describing in detail little hull downs to his team mates to go to, while playing him self, watching enemy rotations etc etc, mind blowing.

A really good advice that i got from a really good player was to stick with 1 tank class for example heavy tanks , or with tanks that have similar gameplay. So dont play mouse into EBR into arty into Obj 140 etc. Since it will take you waaay longer to improve at the game playing all the different styles at the same time.

yes, this is very true, also starting with tanks with armor will speed up things, you learn more by brawling in an E5 for example than by sniping in a Leo

Very good content. Since I don't play to win but to have fun, I usually keep track of my games with the stats counter in the main menu. I reset it every 1k battles just to see my average damage and WTR, so I'm totally agree with your DPG point of view.

I have a little under 6K battles but I seem to be unable to get back to my peak. For a bit my recent WN8 was a little over 3k but now I can’t seem to get back to it. Thanks for posting the guide maybe it will help me get over my plateau.

I'm having that issue right now. I think its because I'm moving away from tier 6 where farming new players is easier and into tier 8-10 where I am the inexperienced player getting farmed. I just stopped looking at stats, and play a couple lower tier games every now and then to refresh my brain

This is really appreciated. I played around twelve matches today and had two wins and the same number survived. I was feeling a little discouraged. It is more fun when I’m winning or setting and smashing personal goals, grinding up to that next tank. My win rate sucks I’ve only been playing for two months I’m at tier six looking forward to higher tier tanks. Glad to be above tier five now. GG keep your barrel clean.

Great video! I have 3k games and I'm trying to push my winrate to 50% (currently at 49.71, down from 49.75%). The best way I've found to do this is watch someone who helps you improve, in my case skill and max, always evaluate your mistakes, always try and learn from those mistakes, and make sure I'm only playing when I want to and when I enjoy myself. Another thing, I GUARANTEE you will not improve if you are mad at yourself or are getting worked up over a bad session. Also, when checking your play to see if it was you or your team mates who made the mistakes that ended in your death, do not always blame the team. The best players will look at what their team mates are doing and then make their play instead of rushing a powerful position with no support. (1 more thing, like Max said, please use at least some gold. It is there and it is an advantage. Please use it.)

"Do not focus on winrate, focus on damage instead." This, is in my opinion the most valuable point here. I will freely admit that I find this very, very difficult to do. Me getting tilted is not making me play better in the slightest. Thank you for this video, I learned a few things that I'm going to try and put into practice. Let's see if I can raise my average wn8 and damage per game.

yeah I tend to get too aggressive and usually get slammed for it moving too far ahead of the team. Especially in weaker tanks you get punished quick.

Also tank choice is pretty important. Some tanks, like the hwk30, just lose games since you cant really fight against elc 90s on even ground

Very nice video. I'm mostly f2p, but I'm not annoyed by anyone saying premium account is worth buying - it's simply personal preference, what they want to spend money on, especially after taking into consideration hours of play daily. Is it worth for someone playing 3h/day? Most likely. For someone playing 3 games a day? I doubt it (cases of extreme joy or disgust made by game aside). Certainly it helps maintaning proper economy. For me huge help was watching experienced and good people, even if I don't always focused on memorizing all positions taken by them, I've discovered plenty new places to take or consider when playing from opposite side as well as some techniques for some tanks (like "this tank works better overly side scrapped" or "this has some weak pixels there so you need to angle a bit different").

Yep, I agree. Some tanks suit our personalities more. I'm evenly split between TDs and Heavies. I wouldn't touch a med or light. Right now, there isn't even an SPG in my garage.

Thanks Max. I'm a pretty average player who seems to have reached a plateau of around 900-1000 WN8. I've gotten to the point where I've become frustrated with the game and taken a break. When I do return. Do you have any advice? With regards food, I'm hesitant to use it for the sim reason of losing so many hit points to fire damage. I've lost my tank during clan wars because of it.

Speaking about credits earned, what do you recommend doing if you finish 1 vs 10 or 1 vs 15, (taking into account that you have a 95% chance of losing) would you fight and spend more credits? Or do you wait for the inevitable?

What are your thoughts on flipping the first aid and repair slots especially if you're choosing the small ones.... reason being the driver and tracks being the most important in a pinch you can easily double tap #4 or #5

But i think if i only focus on damage, i am egoistic. I see in many games that the toptier heavies camp in the back. They make often much damage, but go to agressiv mode to late when the team needs help and is loosing. That is the wrong way to play in my opinion. Sorry for my bad english

My only issue with running food is getting lit on fire. Even with a fully trained fire crew, you're still going to burn for a lot. I cant tell you how many times Ive been lit on fire and killed, or seen it happen to other people in game. To me, this risk isnt worth it.

On most tanks it's not an issue. For tanks it is, I would suggest running Improved Config.

I run a lot of food and in my experience I get set on fire 1 in 15 or 20 games. (I don't have many Chinese or Soviet tanks but apparently they are the tanks that burn a lot.)

the problem i have is i cant hit my shots and pen them even though i have around 75 hit ratio. i have like 25000 battles and started to play the game around 2016 so i know where are the weak spots are. i even have an indicator that tells me I'm fully aimed. with all that after fully aiming i miss all the while enemies going 60km in the open fields turn and snap me in my weak spots. things like this happen 90% of the time where i miss around 3000 dmg. also its annoying to get 23.50 winrate while your session rating is 9500-10000.

Hi does a premium account increase your stats results in a game by itself? Ie if you are a free to play will your stats be lower or is it because you can afford gold ammo etc.

Your stats are the same. But you get more credits per game, so you can use consumables like food or directives and afford to spam the gold ammo, and more xp for vehicle upgrades and crew training, so you are better equipped. If you find a tank that feels comfortable, and doesn't make you feel like shouting at it every game, then you are most of the way there

I hate prem ammo with a passion, however: the way damage is paid in credits is by a fundamental variable, a soft stat, say x. We just don't know this, each tank has a certain price per point of damage. However on top of this there are a few + or - factored in: wether is your own spot or spotted by others, wether you spot for others, tier difference etc. (off the top of my head: spotting for others is 0,5x, shooting dmg spotted by others is 0,75x and each tier gives a 10% bonus, iirc). Asuming equal fundamental x (which is not the case), it results that front brawlers such as prem heavies are potentially best creditmakers. Hence a Lowe in a tier x match being relatively aggressive/engaged can easily shoot fullgold and make a ton of credits, whereas same Lowe sniping from the back in a t-2 match should really not touch neither gold neither prem consumables (and potentially neither the game itself).

@@MaxGamingFPS Nah, this game is all about perishable skill, take a 3 month break and see how good you are. CC play 40+ hours a week. The basic skills become second nature. If this was my job I would make sure I was good at it…

I disagree the only universal equipment I think is vents, if your job is to do damage, yes rammer. Not if you're meant to do scouting like a light no need for a rammer then

Hot take, but a gun rammer is the most overrated piece of equipment out there, now on quite a few tanks, its mandatory, but aLOT of other tanks, its about making your shots count rather than getting shots out as quickly as possible, for example the setup on my 705a is a bounty aiming device, bond durability, and vents, cause i feel on the inevitability of when you end up in a mid ranged engagement with another heavy, you need the accuracy to be able to dump in 650 claps to your opponent

u assume that we all play with premium but most of players are f2p👍+ if u have ton of credits and u already grind all tanks u want,for what u need premium?

the damage and win rate part is kinda funny. true, but still funny. i marked char by having 48% win rate in it. who cares, right, but it got me thinking, that maybe i am doing it wrong regarding team play. sure, i got my marks rather fast and easy, but still even after, over 100 games in it and my win rate is still under 50% and marks value is still over 95%. i think my play style in it is selfish and i should be doing more for the team, but i just don't know how. because over 100 games, i am sure there are many games, that could have been won, if i had done things differently. and no, i was not focused on getting the marks, it just happened along the way, so yeah, i am not sure, what am i doing "wrong," but i am sure, regarding the team, i am not doing things right. but on the other hand i really like char and the way i play it. so, team vs. myself.... i feel good playing it and bad at the same time, but still one of my favourite tanks in the game.
