@@thehsushoe Yep. He does. My friend learnt from him at the Menuhin Academy and has many embarrassing stories of lessons that sort of went nowhere...a lot of that sense of "self importance". Furthermore if my friend played one or two wrong notes in the first 5 minutes of the hour-long lesson Maxim would just tell him to go away and practise and come back in a few days time.

@@DevilViolinist I'd guess Thomastik artist line, I have seen Ray Chen use strings with same windings. Not commercial strings as far as I know.

he sort of said it. Keep the flat finger forte pizz practice for 3 hours straight. After several days you'll have it. LOL

You’ve just got to keep going! Practice everyday and celebrate yourself. A day where you don’t practice takes away from becoming the best! You WILL get there just don’t stop practicing!

It's easy to use a flat pinky on the E string, but not on the other strings and especially not when your playing chords (Kujawiak by Wieniawski)

Playing violin is a very complex ability made up of the accumulation of simple and easy skills. Is like saving to buy a Ferrari: dollar by dollar.

May I suggest for better intonation? Check with open strings, E A D G. And of course practice the scale, slowly, thirds first.

Singing, when your singing is not in tune, it is impossible to rely on your instrument, if your brain imagination is not in tune, you can't do on violin. Try practising singing in tune or whistling.

Ayu Kashi he said before his next lesson- so that can mean 30 minutes each day for the week- he probably didn’t do it 3 hours one day of the week😂

After all, practice slowly long hours. Kind Maxim. How did you learn many languages? Of course Russian, then English, German. Can you speak French?. How did you do it? Did you have a private tutor?

김영근 As far as I know he also speaks French and Italian, and he had a private tutor from a very young age, since everyone knew he would need them

Most great classical musicians speak fluently several languages. This has to do with the fact that they spend a great deal of their lives living abroad, studying and working in different countries. This is important especially for conductors with international careers (Maxim is one as well) who have to be able to communicate with orchestras from different countries. I would say mastering the violin is way harder 😄
