In this video, I explain a few ways to maximize the potential of your rigid heddle loom. Indeed, there are ways to add a few extra threads in order to increase the width of your loom.

Great tips!!! Have you ever tried weaving double-width on your rigid heddle? i’ve read that it’s possible but never tried it myself! it seems like a useful technique for larger projects like blankets or curtains :) I’d love to see a video on weaving double-width if you have done it!

Hello there! I have made a video about weaving neat selvedges. During the video, I mention a few things that can be done in order to help with loose threads on the edge. Here's the link: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/i5t7htWcqLa2aH0.html For your second question, normally, you shouldn't beat too hard. Unless you wish to make a really dense fabric. It's normal to see little "gaps" in between picks on the fabric on the loom. That's because the warp is under tension. Normally, once the project is off the loom and wet finish, it will shrink and everything will get tighter. Even though "gaps" are normal, you don't want big holes in between picks. Unless you wish to have a very airy project. So you do need to beat hard enough to avoid them. It can be hard to warp our head around this at first. But after a few projects, it will get more intuitive and you'll have a better idea on how to beat in order to have a nice cloth. I hope this helps 😊
