Yeah, mind-blowingly excellent job recreating the vocal arrangement of the track (of course, Donald sang all the backing vocal harmonies on the original recording, but the different timbres of the backing vocalists really adds an interesting & fresh element). So now I’m wondering what DF does when performing it live, so I’m off to look for a video of SD or DF performing Maxine live to see how they handled it…)

This is ridiculously good! Harmony vocals are ALL about blend and these vocalists are right at the top up there with some of the best close harmony groups... and that’s just the singing. The whole thing is amazing. Doesn’t get much better than that. Wow!

Love it. Memories off when I was trying to improve my keyboard playing and decided to learn a few slower, simple sounding, SD songs. Haha, I soon discovered that there were something like 56 different chords used in Maxine. Took a while to learn but highly satisfying. Great job guys and gals! 🍾❤️

Great interpretation ! I like when Jazz is played without any improvisation, as well. It's cool to hear the wonderful legendary Michael Brecker solo played by someone else. The singers do a great work as well, succeeding to offer another very powerful color than Donald's re-recordings. The nightfly is one of the greatests album ever. Thx folks.😊

exquisite rendition of (quite possibly) fagen's best tune. if this had been written in the '40s, it would have been included in the american songbook. the vocalists are all great, and the musicianship is spot on; as is the arrangement. on this tune, the higher register female singer's voice is ethereal. it's complete ear candy every time she sings the "try to hang on" line.

For all personnel not being either Donald Fagen's Nightflyers (or Steely Dan, for that matter), you nailed it, apparently, effortlessly. What I found the most impressive (aside from the musicianship) was the audio mix: all sections in superb aural balance. The vocals were spot on. Bravo.

Such a difficult one to do with all the harmonies but this was absolutely superb, thank you. This album was one of Fagen’s greatest musical accomplishments and you have achieved such a faithful rendition on this and all the other Nightfly tracks.

I watched the whole concert a million times. All of you guys are just great. I am a big Donald Fagen (Steely Dan) fan and you absolutely nailed every song, just awesome. Please get to work on "Morph the cat" and fly from Spain to Nashville in a heart beat. Thanks again for a wonderful performance of my number one island album.
