If you’re having trouble seeing the difference in performance of the different iPads, you can try testing out their performance in demanding situations like gaming, 3d apps like Valence 3d, Nomad, Uniform etc

Finally a review that understands the 13” iPad Air…it’s about getting the big screen experience for under $1,000. I challenge anyone to walk into an Apple Store and line up the iPad Air and iPad Pro side by side and tell me where you see a $500 difference. I then challenge you to name 10 popular apps that take advantage of the 120Hz screen. I pulled up KZfaq, Safari, and Angry Birds in the Apple Store and all you will notice is the Pro has a brighter screen and the speakers get a little louder…when scrolling the Air screen doesn’t feel twice as slow as the numbers on paper suggest. Apple gave me a $330 trade in credit for my 2018 iPad Pro so my new iPad Air was under $600…for a current generation Mac Book Air or iPad Pro with the same screen size you start at $1,000. This is a great review that understands value and what makes the 13” Air so good

Honestly, Assasin’s Creed, World of Tanks Blitz, War Thunder, and Octane X are probably the only apps that take full advantage of the M4… and yes it is NOTICEABLE. I compared my M2 iPad Pro and M4 iPad Pro side by side. The display on the M4 iPad Pro goes to 1000 nits which is DEFINITELY noticeable under sunlight - even through a window in a train or office - but the issue is, the previous iPad Pro’s are software limited. The Mini LED can do 1000 nits sustained because my MacBook Pro M1 Pro 16 inch, with Betterdisplay or Vivid, runs at 1000 nits fine. Furthermore, the OLED display at night is NOTICEABLY better than my M1 11 inch iPad Pro with the regular LCD (same as new iPad Air) as well as the M2 iPad Pro 12.9 Mini LED… no grey… no blooming. I’m not saying the price is justified, but it is the best tablet money can buy. It’s now up to Apple to make pro apps come to iPad to make more people justify the extra cash.

The question is whether you would spend the $500 more for the pro. I think many people would because that is the only way to get that oled display unless you go for an android.

You will notice it is you try to read a Kindle book. You will notice it slightly if you use procreate. Is it worth the $750 - because I'm Canadian and it's more money for us here - no. I did notice it in the charging which took longer and heated the device up to a point that I actually was concerned about it. Hot device means less longevity

I went with the air 13”, and it’s beautiful. I keep getting tempted to a pro because of the colours and sound, but then I look it up and am reminded that oh yeah, in my country, the difference between is $800. Baseline. The air is plenty for what I use it for - drawing, creating designs via either Canva or Procreate, setting up planners in Keynote and Goodnotes, checking emails, shopping, testing apps and sites for compatibility for work. I think if I was an artist for money instead of hobby, or producing video or music, things would be different. But it’s a lovely, larger-screen upgrade from the 5th gen 11” I have. It’s super tempting to get ALL THE POWER, I WANT ALL OF IT, but I can put that money towards a graphics card for the gaming rig, if I want to feel like I’m on an overpowered machine.

Hi. Great video as always! 1 questions. Just picked up the Air M2 13” with 1TB of storage. I’m a real estate photographer and would really only be using it for light editing on the go if needed. ie: removing things, brighten shadows etc. This will be done correct? I use my Macbrook pro for the heavy listing. Thank you.

It’s the screen for me. I’m the type who will spend $3000 on an OLED TV, and all that does is stream shows (nobody uses ATSC these days). I can spend $1300 on a gorgeous iPad screen and it’ll accomplish 90% of all of my computing needs as well as streaming those same shows. My iPad is my constant companion, going everywhere I go. If you put it in perspective, $1300 isn’t all that expensive. If not the for worse screen, I’d consider an Air. I get more use from my iPad than every other device I own.

Earlier this year knowing new iPads were coming I decided to go for the M2 Pro for several reasons and am glad that I did it. I compared with the new Air and am glad to have the Pro as it still has the better features that I like such as better screen, speakers, camera, and thunderbolt to connect a nice screen, if needed.

I’m on the market for an iPad. I’m not a crazy productivity guy, I’d only use it for office. But at home I basically only use my old iPad Air 2017 for any daily internet activity from KZfaq to safari and when I’m not in my living room or bedroom I use it to watch films and tv shows. My MacBook Air is used literally a couple of times a year. And I want to try Apple Pencil for note taking at work and maybe if some ai tool is really good, I could try it to design icons and other illustrations for my presentations. I think that the 13 is too big if I want to bring it to work or to take notes when wfh. And due my past experiences with iPads I think that my next model has to last as long as possible. Given all that, what do you i should buy? Air or pro? What storage? And should I consider selling my MacBook Air and maybe get an iPad pro with magic keyboard?

Artist here. Wont be planning to upgrade from the pro M1 to the new M4 if my storage isnt getting close to full(128GB). M1 Pro 11" is the only one most normies needin 2024. 1. Still a lot of power held back by its OS. 2. Just slightly more RAM than you need 3. miniLED display is not as good as full LED, but still better blacks than straight LCDs, and still 120Hz

Have they fixed the Safari zoom bug? The ones where little lines show up when you zoom in. Doesn’t look like reviewers are doing proper testing any more. Thanks for your review though.

Thanks for your input - Dont you think its better to go for the m2 ipad pro - You obviously wont get the new pencil but there is so many more advantages on the pro - from the screen refresh rate , right up to usb c thunderbolt transfer rate - slight very slight higher clock - ultra wide cam( if you do interiors perhaps or have to snapshot something to dimension - not everyone will use this) lidar scanner for certain industries to build 3d models or measurements / augmented reality- much better speakers x 4 instead of 2x same goes for the mic's and then u get face unlock vs fingerprint which is a hastle when u constantly searching for the button. They basically come in the same price if you get the air with pencil pro vs the ipad pro with gen2 pencil.

I agree M2 pro better (been saying that in different message chains) More powerful processor (higher clock speed) 120hz (so actually more responsive / low latency for drawing) Mini LED Quad Speakers (thanks to the guy that reminded me) True Thunderbolt (faster USB C) Face ID.

I pretty much agree with your whole review. I went with the iPad Air m2 11inch from my 12.9 inch iPad Pro M1. My main reason for the jump was I was tired of the 12.9 inch size. But I just felt the new m4 pro was over kill for what I do so felt pretty good about making the jump to the 11 inch iPad Air M2.

@@chidorirasenganz I think what I mentioned outweighed that. As I said 120hz /pro motion, thunderbolt (faster usb c), Face ID and I forgot Mini LED. If you can price that up it seems > than camera and pencil positioning to me. For an artist I think 120hz is more important (they have only 60hz on the Air).

I would like to get your honest review on this product especially when I see other professional video channels that have said a huge issue is if you are using this new IPad with keyboard on an uneven surface as on your lap on the lounge, on a bed or sitting just on a sofa WITHOUT any props such as a cushion then say it to the subscribers? I see you sitting relaxing using this sitting on a bed while using the keyboard is fine if your want to old the iPad from tipping backwards with your wrists.. That’s my thoughts and opinions only… but it was actually pointed out by another KZfaqr who called it out! Is that correct that it’s really top heavy in your opinion or not? 😊

You finally said it, “iCloud”. All the Apple products have limited memory because Apple is driving its customers toward iCloud[and of course they charge for that]. The new products from the Window’s Sphere [ARM] seem to be configured to 16 instead of 8 or whatever because there is not a universal iCloud for windows based devices. What do you think?

At the end of the day you need to weigh wants and needs. I am a writer and I'm not doing extensive 3D modeling, etc., so the MacBook Air M2 11" is almost overkill. My biggest question is how long will Apple keep supporting the earlier models before they are deemed obsolete. ='ve seen M1 12.9 iPad pros online for a little under 500. The good news is that a lot of the third party keyboards already on the market and you can use the second generation Apple Pencil. What's your take? How long will the M1 and M2 pros last before they are retired ?

They aren’t cost the same in every country. The new Air is fine. Only real disadvantage is 60 Hz (which isn’t even noticeable for some people). Please don’t give iPad Air buyers a bad feeling.

Consider an M2 IPad Pro if you can find it at a good price. Best Buy should still have them and perhaps Amazon. I would suggest Apple certified refurbished, but they haven’t added the M2 IPad Pros yet ( perhaps because they would compete with the new M2 IPad Air.)

Maybe I'm cheap because $800 for a tablet sounds insane to me and I already own an iPad. It was maybe $400 and it still works great. I also just got my macbook that was $1700 and it was worth every penny. So to spend half of that on a tablet doesn't make sense.

I want the ipad to help me study. takes notes with pencil etc. I was hopping air would do it but seeing it up close it really hearts my eyes the 60Hz screen. when there is motion everything breaks. its unbearable. Maybe i m spoiled from my other monitors but i really couldnd stand it. So i m stuck with the pro model which 1450e with pencil is hard to justify it.

Just bought the M2 iPad Air 11 to replace my iPad Air 4. I got a replacement because the battery was lasting less than four hours in my old iPad. I have to say that I’m disappointed with the battery in the new iPad Air. I’m seeing the battery drop over 20% in one hour. I Haven’t seen how long it takes to do a full discharge of the battery, but I’m guessing it’ll be 4 to 5 hours again. This is a lot less than the 10 hours that Apple is claiming. Other than that this iPad is great. Screen looks good. Everything else is works really good. Its quick. I just wish that Apple would put in a real 10 hour battery.

How much is your brightness while using? What are you using it for? What I have noticed for all M series chips is that if you only stream or surf web battery does last 9 to 11 hours, medium to a little less brightness. If you do any power/performance hungry tasks it will only last 3 to 4 hours. High brightness will on surfing & streaming will last around 5 to 6 hours.

@@omarchaudhry2718 I use it for KZfaq, reading books on the kindle app, some social media. I don’t dim the brightnes. I’m trying the 80% battery setting to try to preserve the battery longer, but I started doing that after noticing the battery life was disappointing.

Helpful video. If I do upgrade from iPad Pro 2018 I most likely will go with iPad Air. I could use the new Apple Pencil Pro features for drawing. If Apple adds MacOS to iPad OS then that is a game changer but if not can’t justify that much more money for M4 iPad Pro.

Pretty sure we are going from our 2020 1st gen iPad Pro 12.9 in iPads to the 11in IPad Air. We have MacBooks for work and needing a computer and the large iPad feels redundant. I want my iPad for note taking, reading and using my fitness apps for at home workouts plus the usual scrolling the internet. I’ve always been a pro girl with phones and iPad but I think I’m converting 🤣 I want the center FaceTime camera, smaller size and new Apple Pencil

I bought the iPad Air M2 13 inch and I love it. Big enough to use as an external display for my MacBook Pro when traveling and editing videos. To me the iPad Pro is simply not worth the price although it’s awesome too. The iPad Air can use the Pencil Pro so I bought it too. The best pencil Apple has ever released. Both the iPad Air and Pencil Pro are great buys at great value 😁

I recently got the M4 iPad Pro 11in and honestly it's made me want to use my iPad less. I use it for video streaming, note taking, and web browsing.. I've only had it for a weekend and I'm honestly considering returning it because it's too bright lol, but mainly the battery life SUCKSSSSS! just from doing basic task. Idk if it's the Apple Pencil charging that kills the battery. But I traded in my iPad 10th gen for it and the battery life on my 10th get lasted me even longer. I guess like you said the M4 chip is so powerful and it's probably what's killing the battery.

Most people won't notice the difference in screen quality unless they have the m4 and compare it side to side. By itself the screen is beautiful and its big compared to the regular. 500 cheaper.

You should definitely not follow the advice of people suggesting buying a refurbished iPad Pro M2 instead of the new iPad Air M2. If you don't want to end up with a defective refurbished device, your only option is to go for Apple certified refurbished. If it's not Apple certified, do not proceed and opt for new (if you want an iPad or if you're really need un iPad) . At your own risks and perils.

128GB not enough. I think 256 should be the minimum on my iPad mini 6 I’m just doing really basic things. application data and optimized Photos are taking up 158 GB right now. I think it’s better to have the head room for the future if needed.

M2 IPad Pro. Both will get support for same time. In same price you get better speakers, better screen. Only reason to get M2 air would be if you need new Apple Pencil pro & need the camera in the center. I have compared both M2 & M4 13” ipad pros in home setting & people who say that Oled is better than mini led only compare in blooming scenarios which is what maybe 1% of the screen time. In most other scenarios mini led is better than oled in M4. Whites in oled look yellow compared to mini led in m2. While watching something in normal life like a movie it’s hard to differentiate between both so both are great! My point being here, go for M2 IPad Pro if price is same. I got my family member one recently from best buy for $750 it said it was refurbished but it looked brand new. M2 ipad pro 12.9 256GB Btw if you are going for 11” inch then going for M2 iPad air 128GB makes the most sense. (This air is definitely the best value)

I disagree. The iPad Pro 5th Gen M1 has many advantages. Especially the display with pro motion, mini led, max brightness, increased refresh rate and True Depth camera with Face ID, 2 rear cameras with flash, 4 speakers, 5 studio microphones, USB 4 / Thunderbolt speeds, almost identical size and weight, same battery, etc. And the iPad Pro 12.9, 5th Gen, M1 is the same price as the Air 13 - $750 (Amazon, Black Market) and cheaper for the 256GB model (Apple refurbished - $829). Unless you have to have the new Pencil or very expensive Keyboard, seriously consider the Pro M1. Or even less expensive is the 4th Gen iPad Pro 12.9.

IPad Pro M4 is really the best *product*. We have to make difference of Best Product and Best Buy/Value. If iPad 10-11" is too big then iPad Mini is the best product but wait for the upcoming iPad Mini "N3E" (probably A18). iPad Pro M2 got the webcam on the classic position. iPad Air M2 got the webcam on the new position. So if you gonna make many webcam calls it might be better with Air M2. Otherwise Pro M2 in good conditiion and low enough price might be the best deal and product. I got no iPad and never owned one. No idea why I even waste my time on watching these videos but I like to be updated :)

Actually, 2026 is the OLED iPad Mini. This September, you will see an iPad Mini 7 with LCD, A18 (likely Pro), 128 gig starting storage and WiFi 6E, BT 5.3. A few other perks, too. That’s what I’m waiting for since we will not get 120hz either the Mini.

@@alexanderfazel I just ordered the mini 6 as I need one now. When the mini 7 comes out, the mini 6 goes to my wife and I'll use the mini 7. She hasn't asked for one but I'm sure that she will love it for when her phone is on the charger. It could happen this fall or next year or 2026. I suspect that the iPad mini is not a huge seller and the 6 is quite capable already.

I *WAS* going to get the iPad Pro 13" 512 GB, but the $1,499 price was just too rich for me! I could get the iPad Air 6 12.9" 512 GB for only $1,099, which is much more reasonable. And the performance drop would not be noticable for my use case.

Unless Apple gives macOS on the iPad (which will never happen), The best tablet at this moment is the 10th gen iPad. No other tablet can beat the value vs performance of that machine. And it is 600 dollars cheaper than iPad air and approx 1000 to 2000 dollars cheaper than the iPad Pro.

I never tell anyone to buy the Air. The last air that made sense was the Air 2 as that was the pro iPad of the day. Buy the iPad 10th gen or buy a refurbished M1 or M2 pro.

The iPad Air doesn’t have FaceID, therefore it cannot be the best iPad in 2024. Also, since watching video is a big part of the iPad experience, the lack of an HDR display is another deal killer.
