I don't think people realize how much tuning fighters do. When I first started boxing I was decent, enough to win regional golden glove tournaments but when I went to Cali and sparred with the nationally ranked kids, A WHOLE DIFFERENT LEVEL. These dudes are working mitts so much that they're countering and throwing without even thinking

@brownjatt21 123, way too low now that I think back What part? Vacaville PAL had a really good program when I was there in 2013, I think majority of the kids were nationally ranked. "Weapons factory" had the #1 junior 154 (I could be wrong on the weight) in the gym

We got 1-2 fighters fighting at this weekends golden gloves. I wasn't ready this time around but Will be back in 2-3 months.

What people don't realize is that a lot of the football blocking/defensive end evasive moves are pretty much a martial art. The transition from NFL to MMA isn't as harsh for the big guys as it would be for other sports.
