The people of Jerusalem followed a longstanding tradition of weeping and fasting, but they were unclear why and for whom they were doing it. As they ask God for clarification in Zechariah 7:1-4, we see what God really wants from them - and us - instead of blindly following traditions and engaging in things He never commanded us to do.

I hope and pray everyone appreciates Pastor Bret and his commitment to Biblical accuracy and rejection of rites, rituals, ceremonies and traditions of man. I was raised in a works based religious cult, praise God He opened my eyes. I ❤️ pastors like Bret that recognize the importance of Jesus and his gospel in truth.

Wow, I love you Brett. I've been watching you a long time and I consider you my church. I'd love to move there so I could come...but you may not want me after what I'd say now...and I'm sorry, but your coming after Christmas?? It's a time we celebrate Jesus being born. And all He did for us. God knew we have short memories, and we need days to remember His goodness toward us. Like Easter... we're not called in the Bible to celebrate that either? Do you think all the Lord's direction of us ended with scripture? He's always leading us...and sometimes He leads us altogether. No, not like Joseph Smith and his "addition to the Bible) but His church. And while it may not be in the Bible to gather and celebrate His birth, as we'd celebrate each other's...every year...why wouldn't we celebrate His? I believe it gets shredded from that purpose by non-christians, but that's not our control. We show them what really matters when we worship God thru it. And point to Him. It's a BEAUTIFUL time of year to do that!?!?!!! I love all you guys, but I'm so upset with you right now about this. Granted, I'm jumping the gun and haven't finished the last of the sermon. I'll come back and re-post if I'm out of line.

When we were young Catholics we had to let the host melt in our mouth because we were told a little boy chewed the host and his mouth filled with blood. Another time a little boy had his arm permanently frozen into a grotesque shape because he didn't make the sign of the cross reverently. Glad I'm a Christian now.

Agree! Amazingly that’s how I found Athey Creek! Showed up in my suggestions! We have found a good home church in our area now, but still love getting the Word from Pastor Brett, too! I love the Prophecy Watch Updates, too!!

At 33:30 Brett says, "Where in the bible does it say to..." This make me wonder why these churches try to cram a rock concert in ya before we get to the message. The real reason we are here.

Just moved to the North Tampa area and am having a hard time finding an expository-teaching non denominational church like Athey. If anyone knows a church please reply and let me know! I live in Wesley Chapel, FL and the search to find a church with correct teachings has been pretty tough.

Christmas Day was established because, traditionally, a prophet was conceived on the same day they died. The church celebrates the Annunciation, when Gabriel told Mary she would bear Yeshua, on March 25th. Add 9 months and...

Get right with God friends, don't wait another day! About 500 prophecies fulfilled hundreds and thousands of years in advance prove the Bible is God's word. Believe and repent, 1 Corinthians 15:1-4!
