Hi Janey! The tall alliums are Summer Drummer. I am in Bakersfield zone 9b, but sunset zone 8. I planted 10 of these bulbs 2 years ago and although most come up only a couple have made it to bloom each year which I’m sure is due to something I did wrong planting the bulbs, but yours are doing great! I adore how whimsical they are. Your garden looks great, I love seeing someone in a similar climate to mine gardening. You are an inspiration!

Loved the tour...I live in Oklahoma so I was excited to see your redbud...it's our state tree! We have them planted all over our garden. There is a new variety of redbuds called Flamethrower and the color is amazing. We planted ours last year and they are beautiful! If you need a colorful small tree you might like it!

First off, I love that color shirt on you Janey! Second, good job Jason, I am just so impressed by your filming every time I watch a garden tour! I’ve never seen a creeping Jenny that dark green color. All the times I’ve grown them they’re more of a yellow/golden color. I love your whole garden!

I’m so impressed with Jason’s videography. The first video he had a couple of times where he was having a hard time picking the shot. Already by the 2nd time he had figured that out and now he looks like a total pro and a natural. Janey - your gardening and enthusiasm are always appreciated. I’m so glad to have a high quality garden channel in my zone and area. Now we just have to get some more PW plants being sold in the area. I want to replace my black and blue salvia with the mystic spires now. I need to find some. I now know those aren’t strictly PW because I thought they were.

Everything is looking absolutely beautiful! You and Jason do an amazing job! Those pink geraniums are gorgeous. Thank you for that reminder that just because a garden is not “perfect” doesn’t mean it’s not beautiful. Mine always has toys and dirt piles from my son, it’s a beautiful reminder that he is enjoying the garden as much as we do. 😊

Ya know, as much as I liked the field trip gardens, I prefer yours to those. I started yarrow from seed last yr, so excited to see it over summer, that traveled like nobody's business. I've been digging it for a week, it looks nice and days later it's drooping on what's new I'm excited about. I love foxglove, I bought same yr blooming seeds, disappointed that there's only 1 stem, some of my bi-plants have 6 - 7. Tell Jason, I so appreciate how he shows the area while you're explaining what and why you planted what you did.

'Walker's Low' is named after a place in England, Walker's Low. It has nothing to do with low growing. "Junior" is often used, at least in the U.S., to mean, or denote, "smaller version of," but it really means, "son of." The cultivar was probably bred in the U.S.; but in California things grow bigger. I remember the standard warning we were given that if David Austin said a rose grew to three or four feet, you could expect it to be a good six feet in California.

Hello, the angle face plants are like the lambs ear. If you are having a very warm day you will need to water them twice a day. I know that you want to not over water them how ever you will need to keep them watered so that the soil is moist but not wet as well as well draining. If you keep them with held with water over a long time they will take a long time to recover.

Love all the new plants you've chosen and wondering if you either you have the best growing conditions for Junnior Walker or if it was mislabelled. Junior Walkers usually grow 14 - 16 inches tall and yours are over 3 feet tall.
