Pilot Blue used to be my favourite blue ink. It was the first blue ink that I actually enjoyed and made me consider other blue inks (blue inks used to remind me of school too much). Romeo and Juliet is a bit more blue/purple than Celadon Cat. I have a swatch of R+J and a sample of Celadon to compare. When I first saw R+J online, I thought it was a shimmer! (Confused by Wearingeul's collection that was released around the same time, which was two separate inks, with shimmer). The pink tone is more obvious on my swatch , which was created by scribbling the pen that had the ink on a swatch card instead of a painted swatch as you've done. Perhaps that elicits the variation in tone more?

Japanese Mediums (Sailor and Pilot) both look like Western Mediums haha! Rarely, though, some Sailor Mediums will write like a Japanese medium, but they all flow very well at Medium and Broad sizes. Platinum Medium and Broad are a bit thinner than the other two brands, from my experience. And YAY to your first Sailor! They're so smooth aren't they? Well, Mediums and Broads are ultra smooth from them, anyways.
