“The final strife” is a great black adult fantasy book with so much diversity but it doesn’t exactly focus on racism. Highly recommend!

For me, I love reading like mystery, romance, and a little bit of educational books. I read mainly for entertainment and sometimes for education it just depends on how I feel. I’ve been slacking recently but school been taking up a lot of my time and energy and midterms are coming up so yeah that already tells you a lot.

u pulled the words right out of my head when describing how tv & film give u abandonment issues and aren't as fulfilling (or satisfying--happiness wise) as books! like totally agree with that and all the points ur making! and dw about us not understanding u, ur points and chats to me are so articulate! ps loooveee ur content its like a ft call with. a friend ;)

Omg im reading Legendborn and Omg this books is so good! Can't wait to get to Blood Marked! You really should do something like a 3month video for a book club that way alot of us will have time to do other things and also participate in it as well. You could do it as a live!

I highly recommend the Vampire Huntress series by L.A. Banks (RIP). Her seminal series that started off with one book and was so acclaimed it expanded to 13. A gamechanger. Black Woman lead. Romance. Supernatural powers. World building. Good vs Evil. Good pace.

I also love paperbacks better. They are easier to hold and lighter than the hard covers. Plus, i just love breaking the spines and you cant do that with hardbacks. There's just something satisfying about breaking the spine lol

Ughhh legendborn and bloodmarked will always be my favoritesssss. Short funny story. I accidentally bought bloodmarked thinking it was the first book and knew nothing about it. So I bought it at Barnes N Nobles. Came home and realized it was the second book, so it had been sitting on my shelf for months until I saw one of my favorite book KZfaqrs recommend it and I bought the first book and omgggg. THE TRAUMA IVE BEEN THROUGHH. Lawrdddddddd, totally recommend 2000000/10 for those who haven’t read it

Maya you should really tried Cassandra Clare books, she have a entire fantasy saga thats placed in new york "Mortal Instruments", im a big fan of her books and thats saga is just amazing, I also recommend you to read "The Infernal Devices" the romance just hits different

I hate when books or shows have a black main character and it has to center around racism or black stereotypes etc like u don't see a black character just have a cute coming of age moment without the wholeeee thing being centered around injustice or something

Fantasy racism is my least favorite trope. Bitches be flying and doing spells, why you gotta invent an oppressive system paralleling real life??? I feel it's one of the most unimaginative things an author can do.

Children of blood and bone: Black characters, black magic, black romance. Some of the characters did piss me of BUT it was a good read and I hope you try it out🫶🏽 I love your videos girl, they always make my day
