I 100% resonated with your beginning clip talking about how harsh the world is and how fiction is just such a saving grace for some of us. I've always felt people found it weird how much I care about fictional characters and stories, so it's nice to hear someone talking about that. Even children's stories like Paddington and Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile and Matilda. These stories bring me so much comfort and I actually feel the the characters are friends in a way. Some people find that delusional, and I understand that it's not based in reality, but the comfort it brings is real, and that's what matters most. So, thank you. I really enjoyed this vlog, by the way! You had me cracking up! 😂

This was me reading this series 2 years ago. The writing, the plot twists, the world building, the character development and just everything. It’s still my favourite fantasy series to this dayyyy and to see you experience it felt assuring in a way. But yeahhh the emotional turmoil was reallllll during this vlog.

Thank you maya for being vulnerable with is! I get why you are feeling the way you are! I feel the same way about anime and books, it really allows you a way to escape from the pressures of reality. And especially with books because you are reading the details of what the characters endure and it's easy to put yourself in their shoes and it really just takes you away. You tell yourself just one chapter and then 3 hours later your in tears!!!! Love you maya and 2 hours still isn't enough!!!!

I've watched so many of these throne of glass vlogs because I can never experience reading this series for the first time again and I love watching people experience it for their first time. But most of them do not get the brutal, sweet, beautiful agony and heaviness of this series or experience it the same way I did on such an emotional level. You are the first person who's experience mirrored mine and you just get it. This is my favourite series ever, and I can't even describe how it rips you apart into confetti just to piece you back together again in the most epically beautiful way. Thank you for doing this video and thank you for showing your real, unfiltered experience of it because watching you go through the roller coaster of this series was the closest I have ever gotten to experiencing this series for the first time again.

I remember seven years ago when I read this series for the first time (keep in mind not all of the books were out yet). I remember not having anyone to talk to about this series. Eventually, I got my mom to read it, and even she ended up loving it just as much. We both have tattoos inspired by the series now. All of this is to say that it has been amazing to see the fandom expand since then and now I have so many people who GET it when I say that this series is literally the best thing I have ever read.

In the intro I can't relate because I have lived through so much unimaginable trauma in my life and feeling so misunderstood since I was like 3 or 4 years old and I suffered through multiple suicide attempts since the age of 9 but I COULD relate to the part where u started tearing up talking abt writing cuz me too, tears welled in my eyes. because I also must publish an autobiography or memoir before I die because I don't, what was all my suffering for? There are messages I wish I could tell the world but so much of this world is so fast paced. Within a page, it is the most calming, freeing place in the world. No one is rushing me it's just me talking in a blank room and everything's being recorded. And that's what writing is like. It's my everything.
